2021 Mercedes S-Class

This is so far the best picture of the all new 2021 Mercedes S-Class interior I have seen.

Showing the giant vertical center screen.
You can also tell the other screen's plastic frame is not the real thing (Thank God...)

We'll have to wait a little bit longer to see the whole thing...

2021 Opel Mokka

The Opel Mokka was sold here for years (and still is), as the Buick Encore.
As we all know, Opel is now part of the PSA (Peugeot) group and GM will not have access to the new model.
(Our "Regular" Encore will be replaced with something else)

The new one teased above looks a lot more car-like and lower. And of course, will be based on a small Peugeot platform. And not sold in the US. Unless the PSA/FCA merger brings it over as something else over here...

2021 Audi A3 sedan video

Here is a video of the all new Audi A3 sedan. Especially showing the interior features.

This does look, as it should, quite upscale for a small sedan.

I can't wait to see it in other colors than grey.

2021 Kia Sedona

Just a few pix taken in a parking lot. Now you know for sure the new Sedona Minivan will be available with a double sunroof option.
In a quarantine day, that's big news!

2021 Audi A3 sedan

This is actually really good looking. At least to me.
The profile is really nice. A strange blend of classy yet aggressive.

The interior is still a bit weird to me. At least on these pictures (Maybe another trim and color...)
The center console looks really empty with the small Automatic transmission controler. I guess this is where a regular manual goes on the European models. But when replaced by this tiny control switch it looks a bit ridiculous.

The vents on top of the dash look a bit gimmicky. But the screen is very nicely integrated.
As for the door panels, there seem to be enough lines in there to design 4 or 5 doors...

The whole interior is a bit overdone but I wonder how it looks in the flesh.
I think it will compete well with the Mercedes A-Class. And will burry the horrible looking BMW 2 series GranCoupe thing.

VW Viloran minivan

The new VW Viloran is not a bad looking minivan at all.
Except fort that 'kind of old" looking interior. Which reminds me a bit too much of the Atlas, where everything seems flat.

It seems quite upscale. And probably almost luxurious. And if the market depended it, I am sure it would work in the US. As it seems quite large.
So far, the only engine is the usual 2.0 Liter Turbo VW is using everywhere.
( I bet a V6 would be welcome)

And this is only available in China. Since the only VW Minivan we will be getting is the upcoming production version of the I-D Buzz, whenever it is finally ready...

2022 Ford Mustang

This is just an illustration from the magazine Autocar.
Which looks like an evolution of the current generation. A bit cleaner maybe...

As we know, the next generation Mustang is supposed to share the CD6 RWD platform of the current Explorer. Which would be nice since it would mean a very modern platform for the Mustang.
Although recent rumors have also mentioned the next generation could actually be using an updated version of its current platform to save costs. (Which would be sad...)

A Hybrid version was originally scheduled for this or next year, but was instead pushed to the next generation.
Apparently, the hybrid will be a sportier option. Still using a V8. But adding 2 electric motors for the front wheels. Basically creating an AWD Mustang.

I really wish they could come up  with a plug-in model. And, with 2 electric motors, most people wouldn't need a V8. A turbo 4 plug-in hybrid with over 50 miles EV range could really be an attractive choice for many. And fast enough for most.

2021 Ford Bronco Sport interior

As you can see, the new Ford Bronco Sport might be based on the Escape, but it will have its own interior design.
Which is great. (Since the Escape is already sharing its interior with the European Focus)

Well, mostly. Comparing the 2 pictures above, you can tell only the top part of the dash is new. As well as the doors.
The bottom part of the dash and the console are the same. Even the steering wheel.
It also seems quite plasticky, which could be OK. Since the Bronco version of the Escape will be marketed more as an off roader/fun wannabe truck.

I actually think the added personality could make this more popular than the Escape.
What do you think?

As for the exterior, we have already seen it HERE.

2021 Mitsubishi Outlander

The top picture is just an illustration.
But it does look a lot like the actual prototype spied in the middle photo.
And a  realistic toned down version of the Engelberg concept in the 3rd pic.

The grille on the prototype driving around does seem a bit different. But overall, it looks like we will be getting something pretty scary from Mitsubishi.
Sure, such a forgotten brand does need something to get noticed. But this is pretty drastic.
It is a common problem with many Japanese manufacturers. After years of being criticized fo being boring, they go overboard the other way. (like Lexus with their current grille)

Blunt, obnoxious and convoluted is not a way to go through life...

Cruising Instagram...

This week we have a few more weirdos...

- A 1977 AMC Pacer Minivan prototype. Which of course, never happened. This would have been way ahead of its time. And still years before Chrysler's first minivan.

- Looks like someone made a convertible version of the Cadillac ATS Coupe, and it looks quite nice!

- Ad picture of the second generation European Ford Granada, in 1979. The Euro Granada shared nothing with the US model. And it was such a much cleaner/more modern design.

- An Acura NSX abandoned in a forest is quite a sad sight, since many of these now go for over $100 000...

- 1982 velour!!!

2021 VW Tiguan teaser

VW has just relates a teaser of their revised Tiguan SUV for 2021 (top pic). Ignoring the fact that we have already seen it weeks ago (bottom pic)

Of course, it is an exaggerated, sleeker version of the real thing. Which is always the case with these "sketches".
Not sure what else will be new with the Tiguan (Besides rear lights)
They still will not bring us the shorter 5 seater version.
And I haven't heard of a new engine or revised interior.

Being larger than the competition, and not that expensive (before options) seem to be its only qualities.

2021 Jaguar EV illustrations Vs.Spy shots

These new illustrations of the upcoming all new Jaguar XJ look pretty off to me.
Which is great.
The spy shots are quite promising. Showing what looks like a big hatchback (Just like the Mercedes EQS) And quite a muscular shape.
The illustrations water the whole thing down. Plus, the rear end is way off, I think.

Jaguar has lost their personality years ago. Their current crop of sedans look more like Subaru sedans than Jaguars. These illustrations above show a super generic shape that could be anything.

This needs to be great. It needs to be a Jaguar.
And please, bring the wood back inside!

2021 Nissan Rogue. More pix

Looks like at least the top of the line model will get a digital display.
The semi-tablet middle screen is pretty blah... And I can see some wood trim here and there. the whole thing seems much more upscale than the current Rogue.

The rear end does look much nicer on this picture than the one I posted earlier.
Again, more to come. Soon...

2021 Nissan Rogue

Finally, this is it. We get to see what the all new Nissan Rogue looks like.

Basically, an evolution of the current model. It basically looks like a "different Rogue". But is also instantly recognizable.
Which is probably exactly what Nissan was looking for.
The Rogue is a huge hit for them. (they still sold over 350 000 of them last year. From a high of over
412 000 in 2018)
This is their best shot at the best selling segment of the market.

The version pictured here is of course, probably the most expensive one with all options. And the interior does look quite upscale. At least in that area, it seems like more than a match for the RAV-4 and CR-V. (And so much better than the rubbery looking Escape interior)

No news yet about the powertrain. But I hear it might be very similar to the current model.
One thing they really need is a hybrid version. Since both the RAV-4, Escape and now the CR-V offer them.

Much more eon the all new Rogue very soon.

2021 Hyundai EV. Cool wheels.

Looks like Hyundai will offer quite a choice of cool wheels on their upcoming EV.

As I mentioned before, it looks like this could be a replacement for the Ioniq.
Since most "regular" Hyundai models will be available as regular hybrids or Plug-in hybrids, this would be their only (for now) pure EV.
The design is heavily based on the 45 Concept (bottom pic)
And it will probably be marketed as an SUV, or at least a Crossover. Since that's the only thing people seem to be buying these days.
All it takes is that plastic cladding around the wheels. The production models also looks like it is sitting a bit higher.

This could end up looking really cool, even it toned down quite a bit from the concept.
A retro futuristic design inspired by their early models designed by Giugiaro is a great idea.
This would be much more attractive than the Leaf.
(Poor Leaf. It seems that Nissan has been sitting on it for years...)

2021 VW Nivus

We've seen spy shots of this before (HERE). But these are "official" VW Teasers.

The small Nivus will basically be an SUV version of the Polo. The sub-Golf model we never got in the US.
So far this is mostly for the South American market. And will end up next year in Europe as well.

VW had said a few times before they were considering a small Polo based SUV for our market.
So maybe that's that could be it.

Who knows...

Polestar 3 SUV Illustration

This illustration (From Auto Express) is obviously based on the recent Precept Concept.

Even though the concept is a sedan, Polestar has hinted it might actually be a vague preview of their upcoming SUV. Called the Polestar 3
Why not I guess, since everything has to be raised up these days.
I still think the concept is quite stunning.
A raised up version like the one pictured here ends up looking quite awkward. Kind of like a Honda Crosstour...

How about another pic of the 2021 Nissan Kicks?

I still think it looks fine.

And let's hope they can find it in their heart to offer a choice of interior colors for the US market.
Something more than only black...
