2019 Acura RDX

Last Updated:

The RDX has been a good seller for Acura. And I am sure this much better looking 2019 model will do even better.
It will also be available in the sportier A-Spec version pictured above.
Which has larger wheels and blacked out trim.

All versions are powered by a 2.0 Liter Turbo with 10 speed auto with 272 HP (Which sounds a lot like the Honda Accord with 20HP more)
It also comes with AWD, of course.

  1. My eyes still hurt from all the squinting required to tell these derivative Asian crossovers apart.

  2. For those who love the floating roof look! It is okay otherwise. It does nothing for me however.

  3. Considering this is from Acura, this is a fantastic design!!!! I would like a V6 option as I am not a fan of Turbo 4's in SUV of this size… though I might be in the minority on that.

The only overtly weird design element (at least to me) is the back. That angular inset design thingy seams out of place and just reminds me of the Lexus grill (not a good thing).

But over all, good job Acura. I am sure this will sett very well for them.

  4. I would like to see pictures of a regular version that has metallic trim instead of the blacked out trim. I think it will look better with metallic trim.

As nice as this vehicle may be, I’m still not sure it justifies the price premium over its Honda CR-V platform mate. It would really need to offer something that feels significantly more upscale or special to make me spend the extra cash on it.

  5. I like it, more in than out though. Not crazy about that floating roof design. Is kind of being played out lately. Sounds like a good powertrain combo thoug.
