2012 Honda Civic interior

Last Updated:

This looks like such a step backward from the current generation.

I know the current interior has been criticised, but I happen to really like it. And the Euro version is even better.
But this is just a blocky, uglier version of it.

Of course, we’ll have to wait for the real thing to show up, but at least on these pictures, it looks really bad to me…

  1. Honda should have just brought the European Civic to the US market. It is a much cleaner design both inside and out. Their complacency is just handing more sales over to Hyundai.

  2. Honda's designs are just getting worse and worse. There isn't a current Honda I would WANT to drive including Acura and that wasn't always the case. They used to be my favorite import brand. Such a shame.

  3. Interesting that they've turned the radio/navigation screen towards the driver. I guess the driver is more likely to use it, by why make it so the passenger can't?

  4. I just can't get over how crappy the nav kit in Hondas looks compared to the competition. Looks like a complete aftermarket job. Even Kia do a far better job of this.

  5. The next Hyundai Elantra is going to squash this Civic like a bug!:) Well, I think it'll at least outsell it by a pretty big margin.

  6. This is indeed blocky and uglier. Kind of like what Scion did to the 2011 TC interior. Made it blockier and cheaper and disjointed. A patchwork of shapes, shades and textures. Not good.

  7. I actually think the interior is an improvement. There is no way that they can possibly use cheaper materials with the competition coming out.

    Not so much.

While the upcoming Elantra might be a better vehicle, it certainly won't outsell the Civic. The Civic name carries a lot of weight…

  8. Elantra has more letters and therefore carries more weight than Civic…Using a lower-case "E" would help but it will still weigh more.
