2011 VW Jetta Video

Last Updated:

It does look more upscale than before, and than most of the competition.
At least on this video.

You can see the “2.5” logo on the rear of the car, so engine choice will be the same for the US.
2.5 and 2.0Liter Diesel.

They are rumors of a $16 000 base price.
That would be more than $2500 under the current price.

  1. With a $16K base price, how much cheaper can they really make the Polo?

Also, remember that $16K, or whatever they end up charging, includes VW reliability and that winning dealer experience, free of charge…

  2. The two base models (S,SE) will come with the 2.0 from the mk4 with 115 hp. The 2.5 will be optional on those models and standard on the SEL.

Prices for the 2.5 stay the same. the base 2.0 S will start at 16k.

TDI will be available a month after launch, and GLI 2.0T will be available in March 2011.

  3. That 16,000 is for a manual, stripper model with no features whatsoever. Knowing VW and their terrible pricing structure, the dealers will NOT stock the base model in any significant quantities but will have plenty of mid level, 20K Jettas around.

VWs pricing strategy is terrible, much like the reliability of their vehicles.
