2017 Cadillac XT5

Basically the all new SRX. With a new name.

And it is looking quite nice. Making the new Lexus RX (Probably its main competition) look even weirder than it is.
The interior isn't really original. But from these early pictures, it does look quite upscale.
And again, more mainstream than the bizarro RX. Which could be a good thing for Cadillac.

Although now, they have a brand new competitor with the all new Lincoln MKX.
Which has been getting really good reviews so far.

The XT5 is only available with the new 3.6 Liter V6 with 310HP and an 8 speed auto.
(Although the Chinese market is getting a 2.0 Liter Turbo.)

Cadillac XT5

These are the first official pictures of the SRX replacement.
The SRX has been quite a hit for Cadillac. Still selling over 53 000 units last year.
(Although that is still about half of the Lexus RX sales. With over 107 000!)

I think this looks really good. Much nicer than the CT6 sedan. The only thing wrong is the stupid name. CT for sedans and XT for SUVs. I don't know, I just don't like it.
It's time Cadillac realizes they are not German.

I also think this will steal sales from the new Lexus RX. Which definitely looks way too weird for many of its older customers. (And anyone with taste)
This could be a great thing for GM.

Cadillac XT5

The XT5 will be replacing the popular SRX Crossover.

At first it does look a little weird to me. The front end looks like it was designed for larger headlights. There's plenty of space for it. It just looks a bit off.
And the grille is big, yet seems too "soft".

The rear looks like an SUV version of the ELR.
And the little black plastic part around rear hatch window disappear in a black car.
(On another color, the C pillar would look much thinner.)

It looks fine so far... Competition in that segment is crazy tough.
Everyone is doing a compact luxury crossover, or so it seems.

At least this has a personality. And it can't be confused with an Acura.
