2020 Subaru Levorg

The top picture is the official teaser for the all new Subaru Levorg wagon.
The bottom one is just an illustration of what it could look like.
Featuring a cool headlight design that Subaru has been using for years in various concepts, but never in a production model.

The Levorg is a sporty wagon bellow the Outback/Legacy.
And it has never been sold in the US. So this new generation will also probably stay in Japan.
Which is too bad...

Unless Subaru decides to design a "raised up/fake SUV" version. Which , it seems, is the only way possible to sell a wagon in the US (barely...)

Here is the current version. A pretty aggressive looking wagon I must say...

2017 Subaru Impreza Hatchback

At least this does look better than the outgoing, blocky, model.
Seems a bit lower, with a much nicer stance.
And the interior has finally entered the 21s century. (Although not by much)

But, what's with the 90's tiny sunroof option???

It is powered by a revised "revised version" of the usual 2.0 Liter with 152HP.
And a CVT.

By the way, not only Subaru doesn't seem to be able to design a truly modern car. But they also can't take a decent picture of it!

2017 Subaru Impreza Sedan

The production model (Top) is, again, different enough from the recent concept that it pretty much ruins the design.
I mean, the Impreza has been one of the worst looking small sedan for years now.
Everyone is making an effort to stand out a little bit. Improve their design. (Look at the Civic!)

Instead, Subaru is constantly teasing us with decent to great concepts and never ever follows through.
This looks like it came out 10 years ago already. And it's not even out yet.
Inside, things seem better than before and more upscale.

But nothing we haven't seen before. Everywhere. From everyone else....

2017 Subaru Impreza Sedan

So, there was yet another Impreza Concept at the autoshow last week. ( You can still see it in L.A)
And now, we can see a prototype of the real thing.
And, as usual, it is quite a let down. As you can see.

Now when you compare it to the current one (above), it even doesn't seem that modern either...
I mean sure, it is better. But we are taking about 2017 here.

And by the way, this is the "old" 2010 Impreza concept.
Which still looks a million times better than the production car.
But also, to me, still looks more modern than this week's concept.

Subaru Impreza Concept

 Another Impreza Concept.
Again, let's hope this actually becomes the next Impreza.

At leas the sketches look great. We will see the actual concept dry soon, and it probably will look great as well.

So gain, there is hope for the Impreza. But we've been fooled before...
This is what they showed us right before the current Impreza came out.
A concept that really looked production ready. So much so that pretty much everyone expected the production car to look almost exactly the same.
We got this instead.

With enough changes to make it one of the lamest offering in its segment.
So sad.

Last year, Hyundai sold about 3 times as many Elantras.
( I am not even mentioning he best sellers like the Civic and Corolla)

A great design like the one pictured in the sketches above (or even something close) would really help Subaru.

Subaru Viziv Future Concept

Let's hope this becomes something.
Unlike most Subaru's past concepts. That were all really good looking, and became nothing.

I mean, look at their current line up. It ranges from boring to ugly.

They have been doing really well in the US lately, and they do make really good cars.
But they really need to have more appealing and modern designs. Not many people think of Subaru when they want a Camry or an Accord.
Subaru is for people who want something different. And that shouldn't mean "ugly".

The concept pictured here looks great. And ready for production!
Add 2 more doors and turn it into the next Forrester!
