Infiniti QX60 Monograph Concept: this is it.

No specs or interior photos yet. (Seeing these dark windows, it looks like Infiniti might wait for the production version to show us the interior?)

Add smaller wheels and door handles, and you basically have the next-generation QX60.
Besides the huge chromy grille, this is a very clean and simple design. And a very nice update.

This will go head to head with the all-new Acura MDX. Although most people have actually forgotten about Infiniti, and Nissan might really have an uphill battle here.
Not helping Infiniti, a new Lexus RX is also due out next year as a 2022 model.

More on this soon.

2021 BMW 4 Series

Best picture so far of the worst BMW front end design ever: the new 4 series.

Not only does it look terrible. It is also mostly fake.
As you can see, almost no air is getting through.

And, the license plate is right across it, so there is not even a design reason for this.

This is one of the weirdest design choice ever. I looks like a really bad and cheap Chinese car. Not at all something you would expect from an expensive European brand...

2021 Hyundai Elantra: the good pix.

Looking pretty stylish.
I really like how sharp the rear view is. Except it doesn't really fit with the much softer front end. In my opinion.

No matter what, this is a huge improvement over the rather invisible current generation.
And the interior seems to be much nicer as well.
At the same time modern and pretty classy and looking quite upscale, at least on these pictures.

The huge black plastic piece that includes the screen still doesn't seem that well integrated to the rest of the interior though. While everything else seems so linear, soft and peaceful . This big black plastic angular part sticks out a bit.
But it could also look great in person.

The standard powertrain is a 2.0 Liter engine with 147HP. Or about 10HP less than a 2.0 Liter Honda Civic.
But the same as the VW Jetta.
So it is fine for the class.
It comes with a CVT.

You can also get an "over 50MPG" hybrid version with a 1.6 Liter engine with 139HP and a 6 speed auto.
Which, if priced right, could be the best choice.

It is of course, longer wider and lower than the previous one. And roomier. Especially in the back where there is over 2 inches more legroom.

This is coming out at the end of the year. Maybe...

2021 Hyundai Santa Cruz

Even on this new spy shot, with less camouflage, it is shard to see how much of the concept design will transfer to the production model.
It already looks more SUV like and less trucky. Also much less aggressive. (plus, of course, 4 doors)

They have had plenty of time to make tons of changes, since the concept came out 5 years ago (!)
This could be interesting...

New Buick GL8 Avenir Minivan

The Buick GL8 has been a very popular model for GM in China. For a long time.
Buick has just updated the current generation, and added this super luxurious "Avenir" top of the line version.
Which really seem like a first class private jet inside.
Where all seas seems like thrones.

Apparently the engine is just the regular 2.0 Liter 4 cylinder with about 230HP.
With such luxury, it seems the 3.6 Liter V6 would have been a better choice...

2021 Hyundai Elantra Pix

These are just pictures from the video I posted earlier
Showing the whole car and part of the interior.

The interior does look pretty futuristic and quite upscale so far.

Again, this should have really been a hatchback, with such a slanted rear design. The fact that it is not is ridiculous. People who prefer sedans don't really want such a fastback design in the first place.

More very soon...

2021 Hyundai Elantra video

This is it.
Watch this introductory video o the new Hyundai Sonata. Which, so far, looks bit overstayed for my taste. Not crazy about the big mouth either.
But at least, there is plenty of style...

2021 Hyundai Elantra

For those who cannot wait for the official reveal of the all new Elantra in a few hours,  here it is.

Hyundai has been making a big design push lately. And the new Elantra does have plenty of style.
Maybe a bit too much?
This is coming at a time when some other manufacturers (like Honda and Mercedes) are really making an effort to simplify their designs with new generations. Almost to the point of making them quite boring. Hyundai seems to be going the opposite way.
It will be really interesting to see what Honda does with their super popular Civic...

Much more on the all new Elantra very soon.

All new Genesis Coupe???

I have to say, these are some of the weirdest spy shots I have seen in a while.

Sure, there was a rumor a few weeks ago about an upcoming coupe from Genesis.
So we actually could see a prototype of it driving around.
But I just cannot explain the side windows. Which seem to have no cuts for an opening.
Something is also weird about that chrome piece around the window (It seems to really be sticking out)

Under that weird camouflage, this does look a lot like a straight coupe version of the upcoming G80 sedan we have already seen in official pictures.
But how does the test driver even get inside the car???

Is this a super clever camouflage?
Did someone make this fake car to fool people?

What do you think???

Here is the picture that started the Genesis Coupe rumor.

2022 VW Amarok/Ford Ranger

VW has released a teaser illustration of the next generation Amarok compact pick-up truck (Top)
It's hard to say how the real thing will look, with such a cartoony, exaggerated illustration.
But it seems like things will be a bit more aggressive, and angular than the current one .

The current Amarok came out about 10 years ago. And was never sold in the US.
The next generation will share its platform with the next generation Ford Ranger, due out at around the same time.
So basically, it will be a Ranger with a VW design on top.
Still not sure if VW will sell the next generation in the US or not. But if it ends up being built in the US or Mexico, why not...

These are leaked photos of the next Ranger due out next year.
(These pix are from a year ago)

When compared to the VW illustration, things look much softer.
But that rear view just looks super dorky. It doesn't look more modern than an 80's mini pick-up.

I mean really...

2021 Mercedes S-Class

So far, all we get to see is the inside of the front door .
Which does look quite modern and luxurious. And also, pretty weird.

At least it's not boring...

2021 Chevrolet Traverse

The Chevrolet Traverse is getting a few changes for 2021. (new one on top)
It actually looks a bit more modern now. It seems cleaner. Everything seems to be better integrated.

Same thing in the back. A bit more modern and slightly more aggressive even.

Inside, it's hard to see anything new. Which is OK I guess.

This doesn't have a luxury brand atmosphere like the new Telluride. But is still more modern than the Honda Pilot interior...
They could have done something better with the screen and its surroundings. Although I do like it is not a tablet stuck up too high on the dash.

In other news, you can now get a double sunroof as an option. Which is always great...

2021 Buick Enspire

These are the first uncovered pictures of the all new Buick Enspire SUV for 2021.

It is rumored to replace the Envision. And is based on the same platform as the Cadillac XT-4.
(So this is not a Buick version of the Chevrolet Equinox)
it looks OK on these pictures. You can tell most of that designs dates back from the days when Opel and Buick were sharing models. Since this looks a lot like an Opel.
The vents under the headlights do look really weird though...

Not sure about the base engine, but you can bet GM's 2.0 Liter turbo will be offered.
Not sure why they would change the name either..

2021 Kia Sedona

When you compare this latest picture of the all new 2021 Kia Sedona Minivan (top pic) to the current version, the new one seems much more angular.
Looking much more like a big kia Soul (bottom pic)

I think it would be a good idea for Kia to cash in on the Soul's popularity with a similar design.
This could be a good thing to revitalize the Minivan segment.
A slightly revised Honda Odyssey has just been released, and an all new Toyota Sienna is on its way.
While the revised Chrysler Pacifica is going on sale soon.

Will 2021 be the year of the Minivan?

2021 Nissan Pathfinder

Even more crappy, super grainy pictures!

The interior of the new Pathfinder seems definitely more upscale than the current, and old, generation.
Which is good, because in the past years have seem amazing competition like the Telluride . And pretty much every 3 row SUV out there is better than the old Pathfinder now.

As far as the exterior, it's really hard to tell.
Let's hope it looks good...

2021 Hyundai Elantra teaser video and pictures.

I didn't expect seeing anything official about the new Elantra so early.
Since the new Sonata is barely out in the streets.

But this looks really good so far. I mean the side surface detailing might take some time to get used to.
Or maybe it looks fantastic in person. At least they are trying something to make the regular sedan shape interesting.
The profile looks really, really slick. But this shape, more than every, should have been a hatchback.

The interior also looks very nice. And super simple.

I am sure this will be very tough competition to the super popular Honda Civic.

We will see the whole thing in exactly one week.
