As you can see, the next Elantra GT will be, again,  the same car as the European i30. Which will basically be a hatchback version of our current 2016 Elantra sedan.
(with, maybe, a different dashboard)

That also means it will be a bit more conservative than the current model.
Which is a bit sad.
But, no matter what, the new one should prove more popular in the US. Since the market for hatchbacks seem to be expending here.

And the next one will be competing with many more models than before. Including hatchback versions of the new Honda Civic and Chevrolet Cruze.

Here is the current one. Still a really nice looking car.
Still fresh and modern looking...

2018 Kia GT

Kia has been testing a production version (top) of the 2011 GT Concept (bottom)for a while.
As you can see, it looks fine and pretty much ready to go.

And, pretty close to the concept.
But it's been 5 years. Five-years....

So nothing futuristic here.

Seems like it could be based on the Hyundai Genesis sedan. Which will be rebadged the
Genesis G80 or G70 very soon.

Which I guess would then , be... competing with Genesis.
These guys don't really seem to have a clear separate path for both brands.
Kia and Hyundai.
Looks like Kia now competes with both Hyundai and Genesis.

The good part is, it will probably be yet another really nice design from Kia.
So I really can't wait to see the final model.

Opel GT Concept

From the teaser video we saw just a few days ago, I was expecting "Opel is reinventing itself". And "don't miss what happens next".
Well, that GT Concept is not happening next, I can tell you that much.

There are some interesting things here, for sure. Like the colored windows on the outside, the way the door opens .
But red tires? Really? And that grille where there shouldn't be one.

This is pretty disappointing. Not because it is not a cool design. But because it's pretty much a goofball of a car. Something we will never ever see.
And I can't really imagine this inspiring any future models for Opel.
