2023 Hyundai Ioniq 6: compared to the Prophecy Concept…

Last Updated:

It is obvious the Ioniq 6 will not be as stunning as the Prophecy Concept from almost 2 years ago.
That would have been very hard to pull off as a production car.
But these new spy shots show a lot more than we had seen so far.
And it looks like the end result might not be that far off…
These show a much better-looking car than I expected. It looks like they did respect the profile shape a lot. The huge rear spoiler might still look weird. And the super-cool bumper metal treatment look seems to have disappeared.
Even with these changes, the Ioniq 6 might still end up one of the best-looking sedans on the market when it comes out.
We have seen an unfinished interior HERE.. Which is nothing like the concept. But actually very close to the Ioniq 5. At least the dashboard design.
While the Ioniq 5 and Kia EV 6 have similar electric ranges, the lower and more aerodynamic Ioniq 6 might be able to offer a bit more than its platform cousins. If you like a lower ride and probably a conventional trunk instead of a hatchback.
Pricing might be tricky. Since the Ioniq 6 would have to be priced higher than the “5”. Which starts at around $40 000 in the US with the smaller battery.
Anything higher would make it dangerously close to the Tesla Model 3.
Unless the 6 is only offered as a performance version. Which would actually make some sense…

  1. I think they honored the concept quite well and kept as much of the shape as they could, even in the rear.

  2. That is the sexiest and sportiest looking sedan I have ever seen in the entire automotive history. Well thought out side and rear designs for sure.
