2022 Chevrolet Malibu: new year, larger screen…

Last Updated:

Stop the press! The Malibu is getting a larger screen. In China…
GM has decided to include a larger, 10-inch screen for the 2022 model year. And not much else.
In the US, the Malibu is basically the last sedan GM sells. I drove a pretty basic RS version of it a couple of years ago and thought it was a very decent car. The 1.5 Liter Turbo/CVT combo was much nicer than on the 2022 Civic.
While they still sold over 102 000 of them in the US last year, only around 45 000 were bought in China. So we might be getting that larger screen here as well…

  1. drove a Malibu rental for a week, it was actually a very nice car, surprisingly well built, comfortable, great engine, economical, etc. Love the size too. At the right price, these would make great 2nd cars..

the bigger screen is OK, i think it may be just the angle of the pics, i don't think it covers the vents.

this car as a hybrid and at the right price point, would be a great competitor to the Camry. transferring the cancelled Volt plug-in hardware to the Malibu, would have given Chevy (and GM) a credible midsize
    PHEV

  2. When did knobs become too much for people to use? Was looking at the road ruining their commutes? You can't talk on a phone or look at it without risk of a ticket, but you can look at a f*cking iPad on the dash with no questions asked. Yeah, that makes sense.

Backup cameras are a useful tool for real safety. Pretty album cover art with your music and moving maps are not.
