2022 Genesis GV60: new spy shot…

Last Updated:

This is the first time we are seeing what the new 2022 Genesis GV60 will actually look like.
As you know, this is based on the Kia EV6/Hyundai Ioniq5 platform and will have similar specs.
All in a more luxurious package, and a higher price, of course.
The little weirdo chrome line behind the rear side window could end up just looking.. well. just plain weird in real life. Something that might not age well. Like that strange chrome design, Infiniti was putting on everything a few years ago. Also behind the rear side window.
At least they’re trying something new…
Otherwise, this looks pretty nice.
I guess it would compete mostly with the tesla Model Y. Which costs quite a bit more than the Model 3.
We have seen some interior shots before (HERE).
The GV60 is the last of Hyundai’s first trio based on the new platform. Ioniq 6 and 7 are due out next.
(And we still don’t have an official price for the US versions of the Ioniq5 and EV6)
It seems Genesis will concentrate on electric versions of their other models after this. Like the G80, G90, GV70 and GV80.

  1. That's absolutely terrible. Very very tacky looking. It reminds me of the Tesla logo turned sideways.

I don't know why Hyundai/Kia/Genesis insist on these little design elements that effectively ruin their cars. The Ioniq 5 has that problem with the dreadful wheel arch texture.

  2. They did a great job differentiating this from the IONIC 5 and the EV6. I don’t mind the experimental hammer/needle.
