2022 Jeep Wagoneer: from bad to worse...

Remember the official photos of the new 2022 Jeep Wagoneer? The ones we saw a few weeks ago. Where the new SUV looked all shiny and almost fancy.
This is actually what many of them will look like after a year or two of ownership. With blacked-out wheels. In a more basic model. (still starting at $60 000 with zero option)

Maybe it's just me, but this looks like crap. Just imagine paying over $60 000 to drive around something that looks like this...

They’ve tried to make it boxy and functional like the original Grand Wagoneer. But they over-indexed on that goal. The original had stylish details everywhere. This is literally a box with a low-rent Durango front end.

That rear side window cut line completely ruins and cheapens the entire design.

Loks absolut terrible, but the loaded but one isn't much better. Looks like a Tahoe from 2 generations ago.

Looks awful. Hope it dies a quick death.

I think that is a tested paint job, rear lamps are covered in tape and the suspension doesn't seem set up correctly.

If aiming to be a large version of Dacia Stepway then totally on point!!!
Think Land Rover have nothing to worry about.

Stellantis has decided to drop this platform as it's not as EV compatible as required it's a lame duck. There's question of where the development money went that went into this "and Other" programs under SM's watch. remember when this Wag goner was supposed to come out in 2017.
Oh well. look back at the various five yr. plans under DCX and FCA.
It's an education.

agree and it's unfortunate because it has the potential to be a winner for Jeep. the problem is in the huge slab sides... everything just looks vertical, as it the sides just hang down from the roof. The window frames don't help... I think this can be rescued with a few design tweaks..

or... dare I say, a two tone paint job. make the lower part of the car a different color to break up the sea of blandness. Most of the original Wagoneers had wood trim to do this.

So, base models don't get tinted windows? At 60K?
Also, nice of you to pick a photo of a dirty black car on what looks to be an overcast day.

What "Fart" said. This thing is probably accumulating miles 24/7 with 3 shifts of drivers.

You ought to get out more Vince. There's places in the country that have weather.

This is beyond boring and uninspired. That combined with the extremely poor reliability of Jeeps just means they will need to brain wash people to buy one. Sadly lot of Americans love to be just that, so I'm sure it will sell.

This floppy blob is the result of putting the wrong person in charge for the wrong reasons.

In my opinion all SUVs are incredibly ugly. This is no different.

As long as I do not have to replace its transmission below 10,000, it is good enough. Yes, I said 10k not 100k.

$60K with no sunroof, probably drinks 21mpg, and looks very basic...... I'd rather go for the Sequoia or Tahoe

It was a bad look from the get go. The greenhouse from the side is too upright and the windshield too raked. That rear end is horrible. They should have just done the grand Cherokee l as the wagoneer

This project was set up to print money and instead they created something that looks like somebody sat on it.

Flattened and squished. Certainly doesn't have the swagger that people that shop these sorts of things seem to gravitate to. Every time Jeep tries to build something larger, they end up with a Commander.

I'm pleased that the tires have actual sidewalls. Wish it would start a trend, but doubt it will with that greenhouse.
