2021 Nissan Armada: not new…

Last Updated:

After 4 years, the big Nissan Armada is getting a facelift.
The new front end tries its best to fit in with Nissan’s newer models. And it does look a bit out of place on that old looking design.
The interior is far from new. Besides some trim, the only new parts seem to be the center part of the dash, console, and steering wheel.
Which, I guess is OK. The whole thing now looks like it has been designed by different teams, years apart. Which is exactly what it is.
Other markest now get the new 3.8 Liter V6 as a base option.
But the US sticks with the big 5.6 Liter V8 with 400HP.

  1. No sure how Nissan justifies this thing. Nasty looking as hell and sells in extremely low numbers. Here in Canada, sales have fallen by almost 50% year over year.

  2. This is strictly for those who want to just "be different" by not getting a Tahoe or Expedition.

  3. And this explains why Nissan is having major issues. Why waste the money and resources to do this? I know Toyota has done the same thing with the Land Cruiser, but they have several other big selling models to cover it, Nissan does not.

  4. Let's not give Nissan even a sliver of a break here. This design came out in 2011 as the Infiniti QX56, and 4 years ago came to Nissan nearly unchanged save for a Nissan grill. So 10 years later, this SUV gets a partially new dashboard and that's about it.

  5. Old Mitsubishi Pajero on the outside, Chrysler Aspen on the inside. Now the question is, who is paying those designers.

  6. You all are crazy. First of all the vehicle sells extremely, so much so it sales more than the toyota land cruiser and sequoia combined. Sales are down for everyone cause of covid. Did you just crawl out from under a rock? Also I think the update looks great. The front end is very handsome yet modern. I was surprised to find the bid 12 inch screen in the interior.

Oh ya guess what? The toyota land crusier is dead.

  7. Exactly! They replaced the ancient first gen Armada with the QX56 which was already old at the time. I have no clue why they waited so long to do so when it should have come out around the same time as the 2011 QX56.
