2020 Jeep Gladiator

Last Updated:

It took Jeep 15 years to finally come up with a pickup version of the Jeep Wrangler.
The Gladiator is finally almost here.

And it looks exactly like what it is: a pickup truck version of the Wrangler.
Which is perfect. This will probably be an instant best seller for Jeep.
Unless they price it way too high. (The current Wrangler already starts at around $31 000.
Which is much more than the Chevrolet Colorado or Ford Ranger…)

Here are some of the official specs.

And here is the 2005 Concept.
The one everybody told Chrysler to build ASAP. But they never did…

I guess better late than never…

Head over HERE for more pictures and info on the new Jeep Gladiator.

  1. Uh Vince, you are wrong about those base prices against the JL Wrangler Unlimited. The 2019 Tacoma TRD Off-Road and Sport 4×4 Manual Double Cabs start at nearly $35,000 each.

The inferior poverty spec WT Colorado 4×4 CC starts at $32,595 and comparable Colorado Z71 4×4 CC at $38,000 (GMC Canyon SLE CC 4×4 is $36,895)!

That should be very obvious to you, as opposed to looking at a base price for a whole model line that includes 2WD versions and extended cab trim levels.

This will not be more than a 10% increase over a comparable Wrangler, so your point falls flat. At least without ADM. That comparison of yours was plain bad.

  2. Only available in the crew cab or 4 door version and 5 foot bed! It to long for my needs maybe 225”long or more.

  3. Wow this is going to be awesome. I would want a slide-in camper with a cab-over that has no bottom and then by removing the hard top over the cab you just have one giant area so you could even stand up in between the front and rear seats!

Are you not counting the 1981-86 CJ-8 Scrambler?

  4. This isn't the first time they've taken forever to bring a concept to production. Check out the 1999 Dodge Charger R/T concept car, and you'll see a lot of the styling that went into the 2012 Charger redesign.

  5. Scrambler, what a great idea!, particularly if that rear seat can be folded and tilted forward to expose the floor. The bummer will be the rear roof crossbar. Another idea would be to completely remove the rear seats and position food storage and cooking appliances so can be accessed both from inside and from outside through the rear doors. I'm imagining something like a VW camper hinged top for opening up a sleeping area, but looking compact during the day, and for getting through the forest
