2020 Hyundai Palisade teaser

Last Updated:

The all-new Palisade SUV is coming next summer to basically replace the 7 seater Santa Fe XL.
Since the new Santa Fe only seats 5. (The Palisade will have up to 8 seats)

This will compete with many other models like the Buick Enclave, Honda Pilot, Mazda CX-9, Chevrolet Traverse and many others. Hyundai claims the Palisade will be quite upscale.
Which begs the question: Why is this a Hyundai and not a Genesis???

The new Genesis luxury brand is desperate for an SUV right now. So why is this a Hyundai?
So far they have launched 3 luxury sedans in a market starving for SUVs.
And their next product is a revised version of their slowest selling sedan. Still no SUV on the horizon.

Who is running the show over there???

  1. Vince – Why are you assuming that a Genesis version of this new Hyundai isn't part of the plan?

  2. I agree. For a company that so desperately wants a luxury division, they sure making as many bad moves as they can. They should release a Genesis version of the new Santa Fe immediately, followed by a version of the Palisade.

  3. Genesis brand is kind of being on a hold basics now until Hyundai thinks out it plan to offer a premium feel and what their future individual Genesis dealership will look like. A lot of Hyundai dealership not happen about Genesis requirements and are not actively selling the brands models.
