2019 Honda HR-V

Last Updated:

Just a few more pictures of the revised Honda HR-V, with its new face.
(Called the Vezel in some markets)
As I mentioned earlier, besides a new face,  rear bumpers and lights, I don’t think there will be anything new.
Don’t expect new engines or options available. Honda wants to keep the HR-V cheap in the US.
They would rather have people buy the “higher profit margin” CR-V.
I think the HR-V has always looked nice. And this doesn’t seem to ruin it at all.

  1. Please explain what is wrong by keeping it cheap without a lot of overlap to the next vehicle on the ladder.

The base price of a CRV is what it is. It won't be going lower. But, Honda does have something if you want to be in the Honda Family and you want a vehicle like this. Sounds like a good thing.

You make it sound like Honda is forcing people to buy this. Last time I purchased a vehicle I believe I could spend my dollars on any car I wanted. Maybe that has changed and some law has been implemented.

  2. I think the marketing/promotion of these subcompact CUV was aimed at the millennial generation. Toyota Scion models offer more options including the top of the line features such as leather, nice audio systems, etc… and most of the cars were purchased by the 50+ – baby boomer generation including retired people.

Now, the car manufacturers only bring the lowest level trims aimed at the millennials like the HR-V and CH-R subcompact to prevent it from being attractive and purchased to the baby boom generation.
