2016 Chevrolet Camaro

Last Updated:

We will see the whole thing tomorrow, but for not, this is it.
From some CNBC promo.

Well… It looks like a Camaro. Like they had told us, it’s not really a new look. (Even though it is a brand new design off a new platform)

-New base engine is a 2.0 Liter Turbo with 270hp
-New 3.6 Liter V6 option with 330hp
-6.2 Liter V8 with 440hp

Much more on this very soon.

  1. They didn't shy away from the record breaking sales of the current design, so no surprise there. It does look much nicer in the back, almost like a G37 coupe.

  2. I dunno. The whole thing looks like some GM designers got their pencils out and were told they had 20 minutes to make the Camaro look more like the Nissan GT-R… oh well. Designing hot cars and then slowly ruining their appeal over time is sort of a tradition at GM. Some things never change.

  3. One of my neighbors who works at GM Tech Center says his first impression after seeing it in person a few weeks ago was that the hood looked like someone carved out the top of a halloween pumpkin and set it back down. Didn't really understand what he was talking about until seeing it myself right now.

  4. Vince – Do you ever read your posts?

"At least, it doesn't seem ruin of bad compared to the current one."

"…but for not, this is it."

  5. I think the current car sells about a 1/4 of what the 4th gen once did, Carl. The new Mustang is also killing it in sales now.

It needs to be here. NOW.

Thing is, while I'm sure this one will sell well the first year or two, after that I honestly expect sales to nosedive, as it's just not the "shiny penny" it once was back nearly a decade ago when the 5th generation concept was unveiled.

The Challenger is a joke, IMO.

  6. To Mr. Anonymous 6:24PM:
Sorry about the weird post. I will not blame Ambien for this.
But, this might still be due to a mix of Jetlag and Booze. (And that Nyquil is no help at all!)
