There is a new Plug-in Hybrid version of the Passat coming up.
But, as you can see, this is not “our” Passat. It is the more modern all new 2015 European version.
It is powered by a small 1.4 Liter engine with an electric motor for a total of 218HP.
Which is really good. As the same 1.4 Liter/Electric combo in the Jetta Hybrid , with “only” 170HP, already feels really quick.
And, you get a pure electric range of about 31 miles. Or about 10 more than a similar For Fusion.
This all sounds quite good.
But again, NOT for us…
Very intriguing. The only thing I don't get, is why they put the power plug in such a damage-prone, weather-prone and dirty part of the car. So I'm supposed to touch little bug corpses each time I plug the car in during the summer?
