Nissan Sway Concept teaser video

Looking really good so far.
As mentioned previously, the Sway is a preview of the next Micra.
Looks like the floating roof design is going to be something Nissan will use on most of their new designs. (Already on the new Maxima and Murano)

We'll have to wait a while to see how much of this will stay in the production car...

In memory of Mr.Nimoy.

2016 Audi R8

So far, only one version will be available. V10 with AWD.
But an all new E-Tron version is coming. As well as cheaper V8 and RWD models.

Sure it does look good. But still. Just like all new Audi designs, I don't think it looks as good as the previous one.
It started with the A3 hatch. The worst case, so far, is the new Q7.
Now this... Not as bad as the Q7. But really, not nearly as stunning as the current R8. Inside and out.

But... No matter what, this will spell big trouble for the overpriced Acura NSX.

Here is the current one. I will miss this guy...

New VW Concept. Next CC?

VW will present a new "4 door coupe" concept at the Geneva auto show.
The only thing it could be, really, is a preview of the next CC.
Which is now 7 years old.

As usual, it would be positioned above the Passat.
The production version could be a 2017 model.

More on this really soon.

Nissan Sway Concept

The Sway is supposed to give us a preview of the next Micra compact car.

We've never had the Micra over here. Instead, we get the assy looking Versa sedan.
But also the much better looking Versa Note, which is quite larger than the Micra.

Canada does get the Micra. Priced at about $10 000 over there. (Canadian dollars)
But they do not get the Versa sedan.
They get the Note, at about $14 300. So there is quite a difference in price between the 2.

Here, the Versa sedan starts at $12 000. While the Note is at $14 200.
I just wonder if there could be room for a tiny hatchback model like the Micra below the Versa...

What do you think?

2016 VW Touran

New year, new platform, new Touran.
The new generation is based on VW's MBQ platform. Just like almost everything else VW makes these days.
It's completely new, yet it looks like it could have come out years ago.

The interior follows VW's recent trend of "zero curves". The ruler rules!

But, it does look quite upscale. And a nice place to be.

As usual, the Touran is not scheduled for the US market.

No idea how big it really is. VW mentioned  "a significant increase in size". Without any details.
(The current one is about 175 inches long. Which is a tiny bit more than the Ford C-Max)

Cadillac CT6

These are taken from the all new Cadillac commercial that aired during the Oscars.
A new one, where they finally show one of their cars. (Also, the one with a weird choice of an old Edith Piaf song)

And that car is the all new top of the line CT6.
Which should be competing with the Lexus LS, Audi A8. And I am sure they would like to mention the Mercedes S Class and BMW 7 series.

At first, it kind of looks like a somewhat simpler CTS, but as you can see from the profile, it is not.

Now that they have shown it, we should know more about the car very soon.
Which could be quite interesting as it is rumored to be powered by a Plug-in Hybrid V6 power train .

Does it look like what a "big Cadillac" should be?

Here is the whole thing.

I must say, I still think this is quite an obnoxious commercial.
The title, "no regrets". And that song saying over and over "I don't regret anything".

"no regrets". Really? No regrets??? At all??? Nothing?
Not even the Cimarron?

2016 Audi A4???

This is supposed to be a scan from the official brochure.

Soi the perspective is kind of messed up anyway.

I'm nor convinced.

Sure, it does look like an A4. Why not. All we know so far is that the next one will be a slightly squared off version of the current car. And probably worse looking, like the new A3 hatch or the Q7.
And it will be based on the "new" MQB platform.
(So it'll be even closer to a VW than before.)

I guess we'll have to wait a little longer for the real thing. Just don't except any surprises.
Any at all...

New horrible Cadillac commercial.

I think this is really obnoxious. And sad.

I know this is supposed to be "selling" the brand. The Cadillac name. (That has been tarnished for so many years by so many bad cars)
But it doesn't work. That name isn't worth that much anymore. Just show some cars!

The brand name isn't there yet. No matter what they think, they are not in the same level as Mercedes and BMW in people's mind. Not even Audi. (Which are now more and more just fancier VWs)

This is a horrible ad that feels desperate and out of touch.

(Cadillac has already said there will be more ads actually showing cars coming soon. What a genius adea!)

The problem is, their current designs are quite boring. They don't stand out. And when they try to, they end up looking a bit vulgar. Like they are trying too hard.

They do have really nice driving cars. They just need designs that make more of a statement.
And from what I've seen of the upcoming CT6 top of the line sedan, we might have to wait quite a while for that great Cadillac design.
To be honest, I do think the ELR looks great. But at over $75 000, it IS a joke.

This is a commercial from the late 50's.
Back when Cadillac wasn't afraid to actually show their cars.

Infiniti QX30 Concept

I think this is really good looking.

This could be quite a hit for Infiniti. And could finally help them crack the European market. (It is still rumored to be produced in the UK soon) And, as far as I know, it is still based on the same platform as the Mercedes CLA/GLA class.

Should be quite interesting...

VW Passat Alltrack

This new Alltrack version is based on the European Passat Wagon.
You know, the one we don't get.

The all new Passat  is already a good looking car. But, I think, this looks even better.

4Motion is standard. Which would really make a great competitor to the Subaru Outback over here.
( I know VW will be selling us a 4WD version of the redesigned Sportwagen. But it is a smaller car than the Outback)

I just wonder if the Euro Passat will ever make it over here at all...

2016 Honda S660

They are really doing it. The concept version looked really cool, and it seems most of its design is making it into the production model.
This looks like the most fun car Honda has produced in years.

BUT....,it's so tiny it probably will never make it over here....
Here is the concept version.

2016 Honda HR-V (Euro Version)

Something we're not getting over here: the nice/cool giant sunroof option.
And why???

2016 Hyundai Tucson

Looking quite nice, if a bit generic.
It seems that all new compact SUVs look the same these days.
As for the interior, it is more than generic. It could literally be anything. From anyone.

Still, I am sure this will do quite well.

Not sure what engines will be offered in the US, but the automatic has now 7 gears.
So you know. And be warned....

2016 Chevrolet Camaro

This looks to be a part of the next generation Camaro.
( I posted the one of a current model bellow)

We can't see much. But so far it looks more aggressive. And the windows seem to be even narrower (hurray for close to zero visibility!)
Actually, the more I look at it, the more the current one looks "old"...

Which is a good thing.

2017 Mercedes C-Class

Looks like the new C-Class will be revised a bit for the 2017 model year.
Inside, (as pictured on the illustration agoe), the iPad looking screen will be integrated into the dash.

More like its larger S-Class cousin.

We'll see. This might actually come out in a few months in the new 2016 C-Class coupe and convertible versions.

2016 Nissan Maxima

These are not great pictures, I know.

But from what we can see of the interior, it doesn't look to me like a Nissan. At all.
I mean the interior design is completely different from any of their current models.
Which seems kind of odd...

I am not a big fan ( I hate it) of the silver trim in cars. You know the plasticky stuff that tries to look like metal.
And there is quite a bit of it here.

I do like the console being angled toward the driver. Like BMW uses to do.

Besides that, it's hard to say....
Maybe I was excepting something a bit more futuristic.

2016 Honda Pilot: a new star in the festival of blah...

Looking like a car from 1990 with a CR-V front end.

Sure, it seems that most buyers in that segment don't care about style.
And this is really just a Crossover version of their Minivan.
So it's got all the gadgets families now think they need.

Still. It seems that anyone else is at least trying harder (Except Audi with the new horrible Q7)

This makes the Pathfinder look like a sports car...

2016 Chevrolet Equinox

Well, after all these years (since 2009), the Equinox is only getting a new front end and rear lights.

(And let's not forget the larger screen inside)

Which means it'll be at least 2 years for a new one.
I guess they don't care since it is selling better than ever...

Angelyne just got a new car!

Hard to explain Angelyne if you're not in L.A.
Let's just say she's been part of the city for decades. And has always been driving a pink Corvette.

I guess it was time for a new one.

2016 Kia Optima Interior

 Looking OK.
I know this is a bad, grainy picture. But Im not really sure it is an improvement over the current model.
Material quality might be better. But that flat look isn't really more modern.
Here is the current one. The more I look at it, the more I think it is actually way better than the next one pictured above.

We'll see...

VW Passat GTE

There is a new Plug-in Hybrid version of the Passat coming up.
But, as you can see, this is not "our" Passat. It is the more modern all new 2015 European version.

It is powered by a small 1.4 Liter engine with an electric motor for a total of 218HP.
Which is really good. As the same 1.4 Liter/Electric combo in the Jetta Hybrid , with "only" 170HP, already feels really quick.
And, you get a pure electric range of about 31 miles. Or about 10 more than a similar For Fusion.

This all sounds quite good.
But again, NOT for us...

2016 Chevrolet Spark

This looks to me like a weird version of the current model.
I test drove the current one a couple of gras ago, and was pleasantly surprised. Especially with the manual, this is a very nice tiny car.

This just looks like it's been through a Chinese designers comity meetings.
