Something you don’t see every day…
Especially one looking as perfect as this one. On my way home…

Mercedes CLA Shooting Brake
This is yet another wagon we won’t be getting in the US. As Mercedes is making more money selling us the GLA. So again, no car based wagon for us. Just as we are not getting the new C-Class wagon either. Instead, we will be getting the all new C-Class based GLC next year. Which… Continue reading Mercedes CLA Shooting Brake

L.A Auto Show observations. Part three
It was the first time I had a chance to sit on the new Hyundai Genesis. And what a let down. I remember they claimed that everything was the real thing inside. Real wood, aluminum trim etc… But it all looks fake. Really fake. (At least in the color combo they have on the floor.)… Continue reading L.A Auto Show observations. Part three

L.A AutoShow observations. Two
Inside the all new Honda HR-V, things are actually pretty nice and modern. And, with a very roomy back seat. For such a small car. Inside the Mazda CX-3, things are even more stylish. With plenty of very nice details and materials. It just looks great. It also sounds really solid when you close the… Continue reading L.A AutoShow observations. Two

L.A Auto Show observations. Part one.
We have pretty much seen everything from the auto show already. I went today and decided to just look around. Not just the new models. Look at little details that maybe pictures don’t show. So here it is: The Toyota Mirai IS as ugly as you think in real life. It is just too bad… Continue reading L.A Auto Show observations. Part one.

Chevrolet Colorado ZR2 Concept
I am not a truck person. At all. (Mostly since I have zero need for one.) But this, is a great looking truck. Sure they call it a “concept”. For now. We already know that the new 2.8 Liter diesel (181hp) will make it into the Colorado soon. And the extra bits are nothing crazy.… Continue reading Chevrolet Colorado ZR2 Concept

How about more pictures of that new “bigger than big” grille on the 2015 Chrysler 300
And, the cleaner rear end…

Lexus LF-C2 Concept
Nothing very special. It is pretty much a preview of a convertible version of the RC-F. Which is just fine. I like convertibles. So as far as i’m concerned, the more the better. I am glad to see that car makers don’t give up on that shrinking segment.

2016 Honda HR-V
Looking pretty cute. And in direct competition with the all new Mazda CX-2. Also introduced today. And also looking almost as roomy as the larger CR-V. While more modern looking. Engine for the US is a 1.8 Liter with 138HP. With a CVT. But there is good news: a 6 speed manual is available in… Continue reading 2016 Honda HR-V

2016 Mazda CX-5
The CX-5 is also getting a refresh for the new year. But, unlike the Mazda6, it is not getting a new interior. Which is too bad. As the current one is pretty bland. Almost Mitsubishi like… Engines are the same as before. And just like with the revised Mazda6, I don’t think the new front… Continue reading 2016 Mazda CX-5

2016 Jaguar F-Type gets manual option.
Finally. A 6 speed manual will be available with the V6 models. But I also remember rumors of a “less expensive” 2.0 Liter Turbo model being considered. This with the manual would actually be a really nice, more affordable, combo. As of right now, the F-Type is still about $20 000 more than a Porsche… Continue reading 2016 Jaguar F-Type gets manual option.

2016 Mazda6
I really don’t think they needed to do anything to the exterior. As it looked great the way it was. The slightly revised front end is really not an improvement. It doesn’t ruin the car or anything, but why bother??? Inside, it is much better. It manages to both look much more original than before,… Continue reading 2016 Mazda6

2015 Toyota Prius C and Prius V
The regular Prius is all new next year, so the other models had to get something. And that something is mostly a new front end. Both uglier than before. To fit better with the reset of Toyota’s line up. Like the 2015 Camry, but especially the ghastly 2016 Mirai front end… Otherwise, not much is… Continue reading 2015 Toyota Prius C and Prius V

Audi Prologue Concept
So this is supposed to show us Audi’s new design direction for its upcoming production models. I guess, except the new Q7 since that was designed quite a while ago… From these pictures, I can’t decide if it is gorgeous, or just another version of Audi’s boring designs. It sure is different from the current… Continue reading Audi Prologue Concept

2016 Ford Explorer
Ford is making quite a big deal about this, but there isn’t that much new stuff. IThe usual revised front/rear. A new engine. The 2.0 Liter is replaced by the Mustang’s 2.3 Liter (but with “only” 270HP here). There is a new top of the line version called Platinum. Which should be really expensive. (I… Continue reading 2016 Ford Explorer

2015 Chrysler 300
The Chrysler 300 gets a few small changes for 2015. Not much. But it looks a bit cleaner. Front and rear. Inside, it is still quite busy looking. The 2 tone steering wheel doesn’t help. Now all models have an 8 speed automatic. Engines are the same.

2016 Cadillac ATS-V
I have to admit, this looks much better than the previous pictures from a few days ago. That blue color with black wheels was pretty horrible. Now, especially the darker 4 door, this doesn’t look more vulgar than a BMW M3, M4 or Mercedes C Class AMG. But the overall design of the ATS still… Continue reading 2016 Cadillac ATS-V

2016 Mazda CX-3
This looks really nice. It is smaller and cheaper than the CX-5 (obviously), but I think it looks better. Plus, it even uses the same 2.0 Liter engine. Which should make it a bit quicker than the larger model. Automatic is standard on all models. I think this might end up stealing sales from the… Continue reading 2016 Mazda CX-3

2016 Mazda Models at the Los Angeles Auto Show
A pretty good showing for Mazda. We will see the US version of the all new Miata. The revised CX-5 and Mazda6. But the big news is the all new Mazda CX-3. (Bottom right) It will do battle with the Honda HR-V and Chevrolet Trax, mostly. And it already looks pretty good on this teaser…… Continue reading 2016 Mazda Models at the Los Angeles Auto Show

VW Golf R Variant
So this is the crazy 300HP version of our upcoming 2016 Sportwagen. This will get tons of people excited I’m sure. Yet, how many will actually buy an expensive 300HP compact wagon in the US… I will be introduced at the L’A Auto Show, so I am assuming it will make it over here. But… Continue reading VW Golf R Variant

2016 Toyota Mirai
No matter how much people will hate this car, it is a very big deal. One of the very first Hydrogen car available for a normal price. By “normal”, I mean $57 500. ( Actually closer to $45 000 with incentives) Still not cheap. But the lease is $499. And that does includes free hydrogen.… Continue reading 2016 Toyota Mirai

Mitsubishi considering Mirage sedan for the US
For some reason, Mistubishi is now making a profit in the US. I say” for some reason”, because it does seem pretty weird to me. As they don’t have much to offer. The Lancer has been the same for years. It’s an OK car, but it’s not really on anyone’s radar. Same with the Outlander… Continue reading Mitsubishi considering Mirage sedan for the US

2016 Renault Laguna
First, these are, of course, just illustrations. Second, we don’t get the Laguna here. We never have and never will. But the current generation shares most of its platform with our Nissan Altima. I do think it is time for the Laguna and the Altima to basically become the same car. Just like what Ford… Continue reading 2016 Renault Laguna

2016 Cadillac ATS-V
I guess we knew it was coming. In their obsession to compete with Mercedes and BMW, Cadillac is now producing high powered V models of almost every sedan they make. I drove a CTS-V (The cool wagon one) a while ago for a week. Sure, it was great. The power, the 6 speed. But no… Continue reading 2016 Cadillac ATS-V

More pictures of the new Aston Martin Lagonda
Where we can finally see the lines of the car (previous pix were of a very dark car) And I think it looks quite amazing and stunning. I can only imagine the presence of that thing on the road. Imagine, yes. Since it is not on sale in the US or Europe. At least for… Continue reading More pictures of the new Aston Martin Lagonda
