2014 Maserati Quattroporte

Last Updated:

I don’t think this is an improvement over the still great looking current model.
At least on these pictures, it doesn’t look as upscale either.

Not sure about this. Why even bother if you’re not making the new one obviously nicer looking???

  1. Nowhere as elegant as the current version… far too lanky and ill-proportioned and those tail lights look like they came directly from the last generation Mitsubishi Galant parts bin.

  2. I think they felt forced to make the new one longer and more upscale (though it definitely doesn't look it) to fit the new smaller model in.. but the distinctiveness of the current model has gone, as well as the desirability. This looks more like a Buick than a Maserati.

  3. Nice, but the Dodge Viper SRT tail lights flanking an "Audi-like" trunk lid doesn't quite work. The front and sides are very well done however. I'm sure it will perform well, being as it is made by the same company that makes Chrysler 300SRT, Ferrari, Dodge Challenger & Viper, Alfa-Romeo & Jeep. Definitely oozes far more cache than the ordinary Mercedes, Cadillac, Audi or Lincoln.

  4. From the B-pillar forward it's great. Better than the old one, in my view.

But everything behind the B-pillar is too generic and bland.

The front three-quarter view is definitely the car's best angle it looks fantastic in the top pic.

    I hope it drives well.

  5. I'm hopeful that the distinctive greenhouse of the current model will make it onto the smaller sedan.. because this one doesn't look very Maserati at all.
