More pictures of the new Honda Fit Shuttle

And it still looks ugly and disproportionate.

A huge rear end and tiny wheels is ever a good combo, on any car.
The whole thing still looks like an 80’s Japanese concept car to me. And not a good one.

Engines are the same as the regular Fit, including the Hybrid version, so it won’t be fast with a longer and heavier car.

At least, it’s nice to know that overseas market can get a tan/black interior combo on the Fit.
And the trunk looks huge. From inside as well as outside….

  1. I agree, Vince. It looks like parts from 3 different concept vehicles stuck together. Fluid, unified design language it is not! But then, that seems to be Honda's whole approach to design, make every car as different from any others as possible and throw some weird experimental element into everyone just to alienate, like, everybody.

  2. This is just another example of how Honda seems to have lost it's momentum lately. Who in their right mind gave this horrible design the green light?

  3. Agreed, agreed. Remember when Honda made every other car look big and overstyled? Seems like so long ago.

  4. imho this could be a very nice, useful vehicle…

    …if someone ELSE styled it.

Change the headlites, grille, C-pillar & dash and it could be sorta cool even

  5. Looks like some weird afterthought.
It does kind of grow on you though.
Like a festering wart on my backside.

  6. Boring. Bland. Really bad. I don't know what happened to Honda, but they're completely in a rut. How is it possible that this unoriginal and cheezy thing could pass through all the levels to make it to production.

  7. i think it's important to remember that this is not a car for the American market. There has always been a roomier version of the Jazz/Fit (the last generation was called the Airwave) that was meant to give buyers even more cargo room than there was in the standard Jazz/Fit, like people who use their car for both business and personal life, young families, or people who sleep in their cars (I'm not joking, this happens in Japan frequently).

Cars in Japan are taxed based on engine displacement, and in order to even buy a car you must first prove that you've got somewhere to park it. So having an awkwardly-proportioned car with a dinky engine makes sense because it maximises the amount of interior room for the exterior size and costs less to operate. Besides, it's not like you're going to go very fast in a country where the maxmimum legal speed at which you're allowed to drive on public roads is 100 km/h (62 mph).

But it is pretty horrifically ugly

  8. Vince, Honda put the ugliest damn wheels on this car.

I was on a forum where someone photoshopped a nice set of wheels on it and tinted the windows and it actually looked pretty darn decent.

I can't find the link to that thread though.

  9. Honda didn't want to design a new rear door, so they cut-and-pasted an elongated glasshouse to the existing structure without consideration to the overall looks.

    Shameful.

  10. Not for us, but that doesn't change the fact that its another underwhelming attempt by Honda. I wonder if its windshield will stress fracture like the current Fit because they spec'd the thinnest, cheapest windshield they could find. I almost bought one til I checked the internet Fit discussion boards and Consumer Reports. Welcome to the New Honda Motor Co, where 'we strive to be worse than Toyota'. The old Honda I knew and loved is dead. The sooner we all realize that, the quicker we can move on.

  11. Looks no worse than a Prius or an Insight…anyways, this is a car for people who don't mind driving a dork-mobile…its about function.

Strive to be worse than Toyota?

Hold on a second, pal. Honda is still considered the most reliable and durable manufacturer as rated by a source you even quoted yourself, Consumer Reports. Honda also gets top marks from TrueDelta and JD Power.

While Honda isn't my favorite company, there is NO arguing that they don't build reliable vehicles.

Sorry, please don't spread misinformation. If you don't know what you are talking about, don't even bother posting.

    Function???

    with those narrow rear doors?

    DYSfunction!

In every sense of the word!

    winning comment!

honda unreliable? thats a good laugh! honda cars are bulletproof except for the passport which was a isuzu.

there is a guy on the 8thcivic forum who has over 500,000 miles on his 2006 civic. look it up.

While I do agree that Honda builds some damn reliable cars, one Honda fanatic who has 500k miles on a civic is meaningless. There are thousands of NYC cabs that achieve that mileage all the time. And those are all mostly Ford Crown Victorias or Escape hybrids. NYC did try Honda Odysseys and Toyota Siennas for awhile. But, on a large scale, those fleets couldn't stand up to the heavy use and ongoing beatings.

Regardless, there is no reason to ever build a car that's this ugly. Reliability and purposeful design can be attractive too.

And several dozen with 500-2.0million on Dodges. (and that doesn't even include Police units)

I've always thought that the "promise" of reliability was just Honda's excuse to cover up their poor design and overpriced prices. There's certainly no shortage of Honda lawsuits & angry customers with sob stories if you google "Honda Problems".

As far as this particular car?
I can't even find the words to describe it.

Google anything relating to Chrysler's problems. I find it comical that you would even bring up Dodge or any Mopar vehicle.

According to Consumer Reports, TrueDelta, and JD Power, Chrysler vehicles are rated close to, if not at the VERY BOTTOM as far as reliability and durability go.

  18. Bite your tongue about the Juke. That is one hideous piece of Ju(N)ke. That car would be so cool if it had a normal front end. IF is the operative word.
