2012 honda Civic video

Last Updated:

It’s not really horrible.

But I still prefer the current version of the Civic sedan.
Especially after 5 years…
Not sure this will cut it against the newest competition like the 2012 Ford Focus, Hyundai Elantra or the new Chevrolet Cruze.
This might be for Honda fans only.

  1. The 2012 Civic may not be a bad car overall, but it really is a shame that Honda barely touched the interior and exterior. It says a lot about their design team that is releasing these weird designs lately. Have they lost their inspiration and sense of direction?

  2. Yes boring especially for a full redesign. The coupe redesign though I like.

But look at the Corolla: even less changes and still best seller in the US. So seems people like minimal design changes?

Will be interesting to see the sales # for the new Hyundai and Kia which I think has the most 'modern design'. The Cruze doesn't look that modern either.

  3. May not be as attractive as the competition or even as attractive as the current Civic, but I sense an increase in quality and materials. But, even if the quality isn't up over the current gen Civic, I feel they are still the better car. I applaud they wanted to evolve the current design, it was a knockout! But it is far less attractive (coupe included). That's the sad part. A backwards design evolution. Bad Honda, bad.

  4. Is that an Elantra at the tail end of the video? I think that is going to be the car to beat in this class…

  5. I'm thinking Honda forgot that the competition was gaining on them three years ago. Now with the Cruze, the '12 Focus, Jetta, and new Elantra in the mix, the Civic looks plain and dated. Maybe Civic's saving grace is something currently unseen: exciting, killer acceleration times mixed with outstanding MPG. Surely another torque-deficient, gotta-rev-it-to-high-RPM buzz monster is not gonna cut it in today's heated competition.

  6. That was funny! All it took was one second for the Elantra to blow away the Civic in style at the end of the video. Honda really is lost.

  7. How are they going to market this thing? Surely not as "all new" — no-one who's seen the current one will believe them.

The Jetta is horribly unreliable, and we'll see how the Cruze stands the test of time.

Honda will still outsell all of them, boring design or not. Boring sells, as does bulletproof reliability and outstanding resale value.

  9. That new Elantra is KILLER! Really a home run for Hyundai. Funny how it is in this video with the Civic. The Elantra makes the Civic look quite frumpy in comparison.

  10. Thanks for removing the photos. My eyes are still burning from the last ugly Honda I saw on this site.

Reliablity is no excuse for bad design.

And Hondas are hardly all that reliable. What they were 20 years ago is no longer relevant.

Really? You sure about that? Because STATISTICALLY SOUND research data proves you wrong.

For three years in a row now Consumer Reports has ranked Honda as the MOST RELIABLE manufacturer PERIOD.

Honda also consistently ranks at the top with TrueDelta and JD Power rankings for durability and reliability.

Please, don't talk unless you know what you are talking about.
