2012 Toyota Yaris Sedan

Last Updated:

So far, we have seen the all new Yaris as a 5 door hatchback.
But this is what the sedan will look like.
Called the Vios in some other markets, including China.

Not as good looking as the sedan. But that is mostly the case when you ad a trunk to a small hatchback car.
Like the Fiesta or the Mazda2.

  1. It gets too Corolla-ish. It needs to be sharper and more angular in the rear. It looses a lot in the sedan version.

  2. Toyota should sell a stripped version with a diesel engine of the Yaris.
A super econo car in the spirit of the original VW Beetle is needed world wide now.

  3. People but these little cars for 1 reason only: they can't afford a REAL car and they're too dumb to discern a good used car from a bad one.

Who really cares what a cheap appliance looks like? I'd spend more time picking out a dishwasher than giving this dorky sucker a 2nd (or 1st) look.

You should focus more on cars & trucks (E-class size & better) and less on carts, contraptions & appliances.

Life is too short to contemplate the crap.

  4. The Yaris is a decent car for value minded people who enjoy getting 40mpg everywhere they go. However, the ball joints in the front go bad frequently. I like the new design, as it just looks better and is a nice evolution.

Have any idea what a roof crush standard is?

Yeah, didn't think so. At least Toyota and Honda care about structural integrity in the event of a crash.

Vince likes to cater for everybody.
Not just your preference of redneck vehicles.

    People but these little cars?
    What does that mean?
    School education FAIL.

  8. Thanks, Vince, for showcasing cheaper and more practical cars as well.

This car actually looks a lot better than the current version, which is almost a clown car.

I do wonder what they will do with the next version of the Corolla to distinguish it from this: bigger? improved mechanicals? more features not available on the Yaris?

You are such an ignorant fool.

There is an ENTIRE WORLD outside of the US, where small cars dominate. Especially vehicles in the B-Segment just like this. People shouldn't drive a large car if they don't need to, it is a waste of space, gas, and produces more emissions.

    How old are you? 15?

    Your education = fail.

The US still loves their large SUVs by the looks of last years statistics and it wont change until fuel rises significantely higher even more.

  11. No no no. . . the real issue is that we, the people in OTHER countries, don't need 2 tons of towing capacity and a V8 to haul our obese rear ends around. We still believe in exercise and proper diet.

  12. Its a great cart for tiny countries with narrow roads where you never have to be in the vehicle for more than an hour or so. (or as long as one can stand to sit on a hard cold outhouse seat).

As for sales in the land of infinitely long 6-lane++ freeways– I agree with the guy who says it's a car for the poor & ignorant.

  13. Sorry – late to the debate here.

    1) I think the car doesn't look good. Sorry – I just don't. I thought Toyoda said he was working to engage consumer emotionally (ie, looks) to Toyota's?!?

As for the debate about small cars – small cars dominate everywhere else in the world due to one reason – fuel economy. Ya, there might be other aspects (road size / etc) – but by and large – it's fuel economy.

I have a small CUV – and my next car is going to be small / hybrid….is it because I can't afford something larger? No – I'm just tired of being the whipping boy to oil company random profit…I mean gouging techniques. Libya is falling appart – but represent 2% of the worlds oil production, so that justifies a 10-15% increase in crude costs over 3 days? Give me a flipping break.

So, I'll take my smaller fuel effiicent vehicle – and spend my savings in stuff like a new TV, etc.

  14. Please when this car will be available, nd can we have more pictures about it, in order to juge it objectivly.
    tks in advance
