2012 Saab 9-3

Last Updated:

One last front end redesign for the old 9-3.
Before the all new model within a couple of years.

Not bad, looking a bit more like the 9-5.
Let’s hope the next one looks really good. Because this is getting old….

  1. What is this, the 5th redesign?

Get a new vehicle already, and make it competitive when it launches. The current 9-3 wasn't even competitive when it launched nearly 10 years ago.

  2. Saab CEO confirmed the all new 9-3 in 2012.

This is the 3rd refresh for this model, not bad considering the state of the company and how long the 9-5 had to survive without a re-do. Glad they're going to give it a thorough re-work with the new design chief.

  3. Who gives a crap?

Saab is dead. The new 9-5 is outrageously overpriced and offers NOTHING over the stiff competition it faces. Couple this with poor reliability and abysmal residuals and you have a no-sale.

The new 9-3 won't be anything special, I'll put my next paycheck on it.

The new 9-4 is a worked over Equinox with different styling. Have fun paying a lot of money for your reworked Chevy.

    What a joke.

  4. Re-worked Equinox? What did you smoke? That is like saying that the BMW X5 is a worked over Mini Cooper.

That being said, the next Saab will use BMW engine. I say let the company re-build itself. Car lovers should never celebrate the loss of a brand, instead should appreciate a little choice in the market.

SAME platform, same wiring harnesses and looms, same powertrains, same electronics, some of the same switchgear, same transmission, same brake components.

Do I need to go on?

This is why GM got away with badge engineering for so long, because people just didn't know any better. Sure, this is differentiated enough where you can't tell the difference outright but under the skin it is the same vehicle. The Equinox, Terrain, SRX, and the 9-4 are all from the same platform and use MANY of the same components.

You are a fool, educate yourself.
