Buick GL8 Minivan

For the Chinese market.

And we have now rumors that GM might be considering re-entering the minivan market here in the US.
Sure. This is almost ready to go, so why not…

  1. Withour careful market positioning this minivan will reinforce the boring image Buick is trying to lose. (see Verano compact)
To stand out in the market, it must sell as a higher priced over the top luxo van. A van that Lexus or Cadillac would sell if they had one.

If this is nothing special, just a "nice" van…
General Motors better be smart & rebadge it as a Chevy or GMC.

  2. oddly and obesely proportioned, and all that action on the lower bumper is in vain; as is much of the design. I get the same from their new small sedan, the "baby-buick" (excellero or whatever its called). Don't bring it to the states, it'll look dated real quick.

  3. Yeesh! This won't help make Buick a sexy brand. Let Chevy battle Toyota and Honda selling practical, bland cars.

  4. So the fact that it's named can be pronounced "Glate" and it's for the Asian market is a coincidence?

  5. OK for the Chinese market where Buick is a VERY popular prestige brand.
That boring box would flop in the U.S.

  6. Unless it can upstage Honda, Toyota, Kia, and Chrysler…don't bother….as much as I WOULD like to see it over here.

Either way GM already makes minivans here: Traverse, Enclave, and Acadia.

    Sliding doors don't make minivans.
