More pictures of the all new 2011 Kia Optima

Quite an amazing looking sedan.
Especially considering most of the competition.

It looks like I’ll be able to get behind the wheels in a few weeks, and report on the car.
I cannot wait.

  1. I hope its driving dynamics will live up to its great looks. Otherwise…

Despite the original hoopla during the introduction of the 2011 Sonata, the long term tests start coming out and those that have lived with the car report numb sterring, trsansmission searching for gears, etc.

So, we can't wait for you Vince to will tell how it is like.

  2. Yes, I can't wait for your review as well.

I've owned Toyotas and Hondas, but this seems very very promising.

When will they be available for purchase anyways?

  3. This is car is looking good. Can't wait to read your review of this car!

As to the comment regarding the 2011 Sonata? I've read almost every review on well known to not so well known sites, and that even includes long term reviews on the 2011 Sonata and I have yet to see that comment.

You are either making sh*t up or just p*ssed because you couldn't get a deal (read:steal) on one of the hottest selling cars in America.

  4. Finally a car that looks great front and rear ! so sick of alot of cars where i totally dig the front end and hate hate hate the rear ! mercedes c class heres looking at you ! hey vince your word verification thingy is messing up, its blank, then ya gotta hit post and it will come back and finally give you the squiggly words to type in and post !

  5. interior looks great, but i cant imagine that all models come wiht the nav screen. I wonder what will fill that space on lower end models

  6. If one didn't know better, one might mistake this for an upcoming Saab. The dash design/layout is very Saab-like.. .and that isn't a bad thing. Those rims on the grey car are pretty sweet too.

  7. remember looks are only skin deep…don't forget, it's still a Kia and its Granddad was a Ford Aspire.

  8. I really want to like this car. I am hoping that it has the Optima's quality and tuning are as good as it's looks.

    Fingers crossed…..

  9. Okay.

Some of the design details are a little fussy. Like the C-pillar (from certain angles), or the hood shut-line right above the KIA emblem. But overall, this is a really nice design. I especially like the design of the interior. I would consider this in a heartbeat!

  10. Kinda Lexus-like but better–more distinctive. Ironically a much more upscale look than the comparable Lexus models.

  11. I love the front. The rear third is sort of a mess, but a thousand times better than a Camry or Accord.

The interior is a knockoff Audi, which is pathetic for Kia to do.

What's with the awful ghetto wheels?

  12. I like the car for the most part. I especially like the 944 style c pillar. But I don't like the chrome strip above the side windows and the back of the car is a little too busy looking. I do like the Saab style interior.

  13. Well Kia realised that they couldnt design cars for S**t so they hired an ex audi designer to design their models.

  14. "…..so they hired an ex audi designer to design their models."

Exactly. And the results are terrifi! I just wish Honda would have done that.

  15. "seriously, go google who Peter Schreyer is pls, you sound rather stupid."

How is what I said stupid? I didn't know who Schreyer was, so I Googled him. He came from Audi and he took Audi's signature designs with him. So he's a thief and a traitor and he's handed it all over to the Koreans who have built a huge knockoff industry. This reinforces my original statement that this IS a FREAKIN KNOCKOFF AUDI!

I'm sure you have a Fauxlex and Prados that you bought on Canal street. If that sits well with you, fine. Makes me sick.

  16. Watch out Honda and Toyota. Your products are not very attractive compared to the Optima. If the initial quality is close, this should be a HIT.

  17. For a sedan I think it's sex-on-wheels. (Just my opinion)

A better Saab interior than on recent Saabs–I'm not complaining.

I doubt it, but I hope it's not too popular so I could get one for a good price.

  18. "From the back, it looks like a larger IS250 or 350."

Where? I don't see the Lancer's backend at all.

To the person who said "knock off Audi" Take a look at the Tundra, Lancer and Honda CR-Z's face first.
    Now that's a knock off!!!

  19. Tundra, Lancer, VW Iroc concept look more like Audi than any Kia. I'm JTZ I can get so many cars that look more like Audi than Kia. Like the new Chevy Avel, Malibul hint grilles. I also should add the new Outlander into the mix as well. But the new Kia family look looking like Audi? Not by a long shot.

To the person who said it looks like a IS from the side: Where? The D pillars are totally different. The Accord and Legacy look more alike from the side than the Lexus and Optima does. The 1999 Nissan Altima and 2010 Ford Taurus look more alike in the face than the Optima's front and Lexus IS does.

  20. "How is what I said stupid? I didn't know who Schreyer was, so I Googled him. He came from Audi and he took Audi's signature designs with him. you are simply retarded, period. what are you gonna say next? that he came from some university in munich and therefore both audi and kia are copying the faculty and they should pay royalties to that university? or his mother gave birth to his brain that contains all the design genius therefore both audi, kia and that university should pay his mom?

a "knock-off" is something that illegally or at least, unethically copies the design that belong to others. KIA legally pays for and owns whatever design that Peter Schreyer comes up with since his employment with them began. so it is AUDI, who chose to continue the same concept and design language, that is following, or COPYING kia's own design by a KIA designer.

  21. And this beautiful car is just a few posts below the sorry-looking Accord 2011 refresh. The Accord is a mishmash with the umpteenth version of the smiley-mouth-grille tacked on the front. The Optima has a unified styling theme.

I was hoping Honda was up to finding a decent front end signature with the new Crosstour, but no. They must have subcontracted the Accord Coupe and Sedan Grille to Daewoo.
