VW CC now with 5 seat

Last Updated:

As you can see, it wasn’t that hard for VW to add another seat in the back of the CC.
(New one on top)
It is now an option in Europe. Not sure if it will make it over here or not. Or it might just be standard in the US, who knows…

I think the CC is one of the very best looking sedans on the road today. I am always very impressed every time I see one.
Plus the $28 000 starting price isn’t too bad.
And the $349 a month lease seems like a good deal.

  1. that' s because 4 seats don't sell. Nissan offered this a few years ago on Maxima and cancelled that. What made VW think they could do it???

  2. Today VW generally builds high quality cars – the only problem is that it depends on WHERE they have been manufactured. If they come from Germany they are very well put together. So you should know where they come from. Today they are definitely not junk.

  3. the whole 4-seat only thing on maxima and cc is to (pointlessly) enhance the "4-door sportscar/coupe" image. but seriously, most ppl on the see your car's EXTERIOR only, and they will base their judgement on that, the ppl actually get to go inside yourcar will be glad to have on extra seat and won't think of the car any differently regardless of having an extra piece of stupid redundant pointless plastic over the center of the rear seat or not.

  4. i agree it's quite a head turner. i don't see how the little center cushion really adds much value, but it's probably better looking than the plastic insert. i just wish it had a better name. a gorgeous car needs a more inspired name than CC.

  5. The CC is a handsome sedan but when you start adding options the price rises quickly. The gGerman built cars a re much better than the ones made in Mexico. I had a 2006 Jetta and trim peices started falling off a few months after I bought it. The car was still under warranty & the dealer refused to fix it. The service department personel were some of the rudest, least professional people I have ever had to deal with.

  6. BFD, so Volkswagen just invented a 5 seater. This car is just a cheap copy of a Mercedes. And I don't care where their quality is at right now, when I bought my German made Passat 6 years ago, it sucked. And worse than that was their customer service (which was only 2 years ago, when I could no longer tolerate being treated like an idiot). They can keep all of their cars, I will never give them another dime of my money. I was an idiot to think I was getting BMW quality at VW prices. You get what you pay for, and with VW you get scheisse.

  7. You need to drive one before making assumption on the CC. The new for 2010 DSG ha sto be one of the worst transmissions ever used in a car.
I purchased one 4 weeks ago and regret not checking out the blogs on the transmission.

    Completely agree with you.

Their quality is nonexistent. My daughters 2008 Rabbit has been the biggest POS and nightmare for our family. It has since left her stranded twice, once being on the side of I-95 at 2am while returning to school. IIIII had to drive 150 miles to go pick her up and didn't get there until 4 in the morning. Don't get me started on the other nagging issues the vehicle has.

One of my co-workers had a 2007 A4 that had just as many problems as my daughters car. Since replaced with a V-6 TSX and he loves it.

  9. German-made VWs are also big piles of sh*t. I made a point to avoid Brazilian or (shudder) Mexican-made VWs a few years ago when I purchased a Golf and it was nothing but problems. VW just can't build a reliable car anywhere in the world, even their own backyard.

  10. Most people I know (who don't have a family) who buy sedans almost never use the back seat.
And the never seat 3 people back there.

I think there is a market for 4 seater cars.
For most "non family" people, they do make a lot of sense.
But manufacturers should use the space for some cool rear console design. Not just some plastic storage bin.
