Next Nissan 200 SX back on track.

Last Updated:

Apparently, a small RWC coupe from Nissan will be coming out after all.

I guess the new RWD coupes from both Toyota and Subaru have something to do with it.

Power would come from a 1.8 Liter Turbo with 200hp.
A non turbo version could be offered in the base model.

It could be out in a bit over a year. Looking like… who knows.
The Foria concept from a few years ago looked nice, in a strange retro way (blue car).
Some people have tried to guess it could look like a small Altima Coupe (silver car).

Let’s just hope they do make it a bit special looking.

  1. This is far too tame for a car that expects to compete with the Genesis or Subaroyota coupes. If they don't sex it up significantly, it will just be a secretary's car like the Altima coupe.

  2. It's a rumor floating around that Kia is supposed to come out with a rwd coupe as well as a sedan. I'm more interested in what the Koreans have to show.

  3. I don't know what the big deal is with the Genesis, it is heavy as the past poster noted…These Japanese cars that will be coming out are true to the old school AE86 formula, lightweight and enough torque to make things interesting.

  4. Genesis coupe, while heavy, still performs.

    I'd still take one.

I can't get excited over ANY Nissan that isn't the GT-R or the 370Z.

  5. This isn't very attractive. The Genesis coupe is a good looking car but I haven't driven one. I haven't seen one either. Are they even on sale yet? But I tend to think a small car like this will compete against the GTI and not the Genesis. Nissan needs to offer something to replace the miserable Sentra.

  6. yes ,I hope its a real horny little beast. Horn it up!

This type of car has to be a real head turner or forget it.

As derogatory as your comment sounds, there's a market for "secretary's cars."

This type of car has to be a real head turner or forget it.

The original 200SX wasn't a real head-turner, but it seemed to have sold well enough.

Perhaps automobile makers understand a trend for economical, cleanly styled, reliable, slightly sporty coupes for a world economy with less to spend.

The Genesis Coupe has been on sale for almost a year and I see a bunch of them in the Northen VA area.

I couldn't care less about this Nissan offering. None of their vehicles do anything for me.

The Sentra is a terrible vehicle, hands down the worst in its segment.

  9. this thing is a beauty, in fact the sentra has not a thing terrible about it. maybe you don't like it, but it is a gem in every way in my opinion.

  10. Nice little design. I hope Nissan can improve its reliability. After they moved production to the US, they matched the US car makers in quality. Shame..shame..shame!
