2012 Mazda RX7 to replace RX8

Last Updated:

The RX7 name will return for the next generation.
The car will also be smaller, lighter and cheaper than the current model.
Good news.
It will compete with the new RWD coupes from Toyota and Subaru, as well as a new RWD coupe from Nissan.
So expect a base price of under $25 000.

Whether it looks like the Kabura concept (above) or any of the other illustrations remains to be seen.
But a production version of the Kabura would be great.

  1. This looks pretty good so far. I'm glad they're toning down that rediculous smiley face front ends. It's still there but it's not as bad. I will say though that Nissan better pick up its game with its possible new 240 sx. The Toyobaru and Mazda offerings are just so much better so far.

  2. Wow this is great news. I never really warmed up to the RX8 and I get the feeling neither did the public as of late…This ia gonna be interesting, RX-7, Toyota, Subaru, Nissan all throwing down so far in the rwd sports car ring…

  3. get real 🙂
toyota, subaru, mazda, nissan… they do not exist yet (or will they ever?). you speak as if all of them were arround the corner.

  4. The greenhouse reminds me of the Chyrsler Fire Power concept. I can get cars from A-Z not just the Koreans.
