2010 Toyota 4 Runner

Last Updated:

That looks pretty terrible.Blocky and old.
I guess that’s what people mean by “rugged”.

There might still be a market for it, although it is shrinking.
The new model will be available with a 4 cylinder engine for the 1st time in years.
Maybe the only concession to the changing times…

  1. Looks stunning to me.
I am surely going to buy 2010 4runner limited edition when they come out. Hardcore fan of 4runner. Nothing else will do..:)

  2. That interior is god awful.

Given Toytotas slipping quality, I bet it will have cheap plastics and frame rot issues too.

  3. hey vince,

do u have the Car and driver pictures of the 2011 ford edge interior? i've been looking all over for them, but C&D removed them.

  4. looks like the same kind of cheap plastic dash that Tundra & Sequoia buyers are stuck with. Not even up to par with the old Cherokee and the next Cherokee will have real leather & real wood! Even the Envoy & Explorers from 4 years age were better than these "new" Toyotas.

  5. this thing should shame toyota. they are cocky assholes that think you will buy anything with their stupid badge on it.

  6. ugly! another one of those cars where a bunch of designers never talked to each other when they designed it.

  7. Wow, I'm surprised Toyota is getting negative feed back. Usually it's the Koreans that gets talked about for it's cheap plastics never Toyota. What happened you guys just started noticing it's not just the Koreans usuing cheap plastics? Huh? Yeah told ya'll.

  8. The only thing people said about the Borrego when it first came out was it's timing was off. This is BOF and no one said that why because it's a Toyota? So how can the Borrego's BOF be off if Toyota is going to continue with theirs? Doesn't that make them rivals? But only talk about the Borrego because it's Kia not Toyota.

  9. Holy upright windshield Batman, but hey i bet they just wanna get back to basics with this one, too bad we cant get back there stellar quality from back then ! i could really see some awesome aftermarket kits on that front end to make it smoking ( evo-Gtr ish ) but gosh danggit who designed and approved of the stupid tailamps ? If I roll by some brush in the outback it will rip the ugly poorly designed lamps off this not so bad solid frame truck ! and dear Toyota please give the nasty pug face tacoma a new face, and while your at it redesign the boxter faced tundra !
Dear lord that tacoma is ugly and this 4runner looks hot ! hope they put a rear bumper on it ! ha

  10. I have a 2007 4Runner, 49k miles. Never had ANY problems whatsoever. The compromise between onroad ride and offroad ability is impressive too. Average over 20mpg. The power rear window is another feature that I hope they keep. Great for carrying kayaks out the rear of the vehicle without leaving a hatch ajar.

The beauty of the 4Runner is that they are easy to repair down the road. Spend some time under one on a lift and you'll see what I'm talking about. Everything is accessible. Contrast that with most vehicles today.

This is why these vehicles (along with the Tacoma) are often exported to third world countries once used.

  11. Wow, Toyota's loosing it on all accounts. Every kingdom has their fall, and now it's the rise of the Koreans!

Well, it's only a year and a half old, so you shouldn't have.

BALONEY! Try dealing with an older 4 Runner and you have lots of rust-through that makes the entire vehicle a total write-off. If easy-to-fix is all you're looking for, buy an Explorer. It's an extremely durable SUV that's easy to fix. But they're hardly the benchmark of good SUVs. Ten years ago, everyone had a 4 Runner or an Explorer. Today, no one wants either of them because there are too many better alternatives.

  13. If easy-to-fix is all you're looking for, buy an Explorer.

No way in hell i would own an old Ford Exploder.
    I would rather have a 4runner anyday.

  14. "If this was korean or a Hyundai, everyone would say this is great". Check the new Sonata add on this blog idiot. Check the Kia Borrego on here. Check the Tuscan on here. Check the Kia Forte on here. Check thoes ads. Check them If this was a Korean truck, there would be more negative commets than 28. Also what you complaing about TOyota is the bast selling car in the World? As ugly they are people still will buy them before GM, Korean, and German
