Well, the flying cars are still a future fantasy, but the neon jungle already exists in major cities. And the roads look pretty much like the roads here in Metro Detroit.

Road construction happens all the time.
People need a few more centuries to master the art of driving on the GROUND first.

Well, we have all of the filth and grime but none of the cool technology yet.
Blade Runner was a good movie and excellent CGI for the time.
No CGI in Blade Runner.
Just models and matte paintings.
All this was going to happen by the year 2000 as I was growing up ( ie the Jetsons ) , 2009 and from outside it dosn’t look much different from the 1960’s. The only future thing that has happened is portable video telephones. The real future will probably look more like downtown Delhi.
