New Toyota Wish

Last Updated:

When the current generation Wish came out a few years ago, rumors floated around it would become a Scion in the US.
That never happened. Instead, Toyota decided to make all their Scion models much bigger…
Now there is a new Wish. Powered by a 1.8 Liter and a 2 Liter engine. It still looks like it would make a decent larger Scion model.
This is smaller than it looks on the pictures, competing with the Mazda5. The Mazda has had a tough time getting noticed in the US, so I really don’t think this one will end up here.

Here is the current model.

  1. They’re OK I guess. I wish we had the option of getting these things here. The current NA minivans are too big these days.

  2. I wish it weren’t so fugly, especially the interior. What’s that above the shifter, a kids lunchbox?

Thats just a blanking plate for the stereo/sat nav.
    It hasnt been installed yet.

  4. I think it would be a big hit in North America. Not everyone wants a 8 passenger minivan and driving a large SUV nowadays is synonymous with being a fat, obnoxious American. This could do well!

  5. I wish the dash didn’t look like a 1990 Oldsmobile Cutlass. I wish the nav system didn’t look like my four year old Fujitsu tablet PC. I wish that the exterior didn’t look like a shitty jacked-up Camry wagon. I wish Toyota would build cars that don’t remind me of all the Toyota crap that my parents had in their driveway ten years ago. I wish….

  6. No it won’t work. it works in other part of the world.

if you really need three rows of seats, the minivan is hard to beat. it is only a foot longer than the mazda5 and has plenty of trunk space for 7 to 8 people stuff.

those posse who wants 3 rows would go for those fake rugged suvs.

mazda5 and mercedes r-class don’t do well here.
