Wagoner to drive Volt to DC.

Last Updated:

I guess that’s the perfect choice.
He will be driving a Volt prototype to congress where he will be for billions.

I just hope GM survives this. Really.
Sure they have made so many mistakes in the past. But I really think they are putting out mostly good cars now, and are on their way to more.
Plus all these jobs lost, as well as tax revenues.

I hear it could impact up to 3 million jobs. That would be 3 million people not paying taxes. And most filling for unemployment.
How much would that cost?

  1. Well, if GM does’nt get the money, I don’t think they’ll go under, but I do think they’ll be alot smaller.

  2. I think they will be a lot smaller regardless, selling off Saab and Hummer will be a given. Although Saturn is consists of rebadged European GM product, I understand them axing that marque, to be sold as Pontiacs instead.

  3. oh SUPER…the CEO of a company I’m a shareholder of shouldn’t have to DRIVE to see congress.

doesn’t seem very safe to ME!

how many members of congress that will be at the meeting on thursday will have driven THEMSELVES to work? Probably ZERO.

  4. How is he gonna get there in the Volt? I didn’t think the range was that big for an all electric car.

  5. Bankruptcy is not really a bad word for these guys. They will reorganize and have no debt. They just don’t want to lose power, which is handed over to the courts. Go bankrupt, get it over with, reorganize, come back a leaner company.

  6. I agree with you Vince but the votes are apparently not there for the bailout. What will probably happen is a federally structured bankruptcy that could be called a “reorganization” so as to not scare off potential customers.

  7. He drove the Malibu Hybrid from Detroit to DC, and he’ll drive the Volt Prototype from his hotel in DC to the Congressional hearing.

    fyi…

  8. “I thought he settled for a Malibu hybrid.”

That’s what’s probably really under that Volt shell.

Didn’t they try flying in private jets first?? And got the major rejection!!

  10. Comm’on. do you really think they drive themselves to DC? they are being chauffeured along with their handlers in multiple vehicle convoy. I would have loved to pass them on the turnpikes.

Chrysler CEO was fired from his position at Home Depot and left there with a 210 Mil severance package. Now where can i get a job like that!!!

So i don’t really feel sorry for these a#@@hole. Maybe they should be driving a Chevy Express 12-passenger van! That is a piece of crap (i got a 2007 sitting on my driveway)

  11. go check out that story about the CEO of Japan Airline.and meanwhile these CEOs in the US are tyring to brag about how thrifty they are by driving the newest late model car to beg for tax payer’s money and crying how they lost 2 of 5 of their jets. and how horrible it will be if they lose their job and have to settle for a lottery-jacpot-sized severance package.
