New Elantra front end?

Last Updated:

This is what the Chinese market version of the Elantra will look like.
I just wonder if other countries will get this as well.
It is much better than what we have now. Then again, it’s not really a tough one to improve.
The elantra has got to be, in my opinion, one of the worse looking car on the market.
I am sure it’s pretty good , it just looks like a car for someone who hates cars…

This is what’s offered now.
Anything can help…

  1. I concur, Vince – it’s like they tried to apply Azera styling to a miniature package. It doesn’t work very well.

  2. I dunno, I kinda like the Elantra styling. The Chinese version looks like a bastardize version of the international Elantra and the Kia Ceed.

  3. I pray that our “Touring” model gets that chinese front end…but it wont….

But what makes them so special anyway…why are they the only country that gets unique front ends to almost EVERY car they get imported?

  4. I concur, Vince – it’s like they tried to apply Azera styling to a miniature package. It doesn’t work very well.

I agree with the comments above. I’m not a fan of the ‘wavy’ line along the side either. The idea was to continue the design DNA but it is very plain.

The newer front end does look much nicer. Hope we see it here in the U.S.

  5. I agree that the wavy line does not produce a very attractive image, even in the update this wave in my opinion makes its hips look very narow cuttng a somewhat goofy stance. Personally I prefer straighter and taughter lines as opposed to 90s ish taruas lines as i think they produce overall a more agressive stance.

  6. Yep, when i fist spotted the current Elantra i thought to myself “Way to blow your momentum, Hyundai”

  7. I don’t object to the current style. It looks like an attempt to stylize a cheap car, and that is good. I think they do a very good job to make the cheapest cars not look quite so cheap.
