New Cadillac BLS?

Last Updated:

Could be.

The next version of the BLS is supposed to look much more aggressive than the current model.
And it will also make it to the US. As a “smaller and cheaper than CTS” model.

That’s good news.

  1. I don’t know how much more agressive cars can get these days. They all look so mean and angry. And the next iteration is supposed to look meaner. We need more cars that look like the Quattoporte. Calm and pleasant.

That reminds me. Is the new Corolla so dull because old people don’t like mean looking cars?

  2. That is the best looking Cadillac I’ve ever seen besides the 16 concept. Does it look to be a hatchback? If so great work.

  3. Hey Vince, what do mean by the next version and the current model? Is Caddy selling this BLS in other country currently??

All Caddy sedans seem to look the same just in different scale to me 🙁

  4. Pretty sweet looking. The rims are a little big, but other than that looks like it would be a hit over here.

  5. It would be great if this is the BLS, because it’s a nice looking car, but if I’m not mistaken this is nothing more than the speculative rendering that was floating around months ago of what the CTS was supposed to look like.

  6. Slab-sided, narrow side windows, too-high belt line, stubby trunk, and likely cramped rear seat with poor headroom. The new CTS looks great where this looks cartoonish and amateurish. The Cadillac style doesn’t translate well to every model.

  7. This is a great improvement over the bland BMW and Lexus. And for the record both the 3 and IS are small cramped SPORT SEDANS.

  8. Cadillac Cimarron II: European Vacation? GM needs to play this one very carefully. But with SAAB9-1, the Volvo C, Audi A3 and BMW -1 the market might be ready for a smaller Cadillac. Just don’t make it an Astra with the new face and ass.

  9. If that is the next BLS and its coming to the US with RWD, then I’m going to put off my next car purchase so I can get one….

  10. And for the record both the 3 and IS are small cramped SPORT SEDANS.

I fault them for the same reason, but this is about the Caddy. Even cars with faults can be enjoyable to own and drive. I wish GM well with this even though I don’t like it.

  11. If this BLS is offered in the U.S., it’ll position Cadillac similarly to BMW with 3 sizes of distinctly different cars for different markets to cover sporty “near luxury” on up.

This could make it easier to dump Buick and/or Pontiac because Chevy, Saturn, Saab and Cadillac are more than enough brands to sell in the U.S.

The Buick Enclave is probably the most successful Buick in years and could have/should have been a Cadillac instead.

In any case, GM is FINALLY getting its act together and offering some excellent vehicles–as good or better than competitors now.

  12. I like this. I’ve always been a fan of the B5 and B6 platform Audi A4 sedans. Now that they’ve grown six inches, they’re nice, but they just don’t look as athletic. The CTS has grown a bit, so there’s room for a car this size. If Caddy makes this RWD and sticks a powerful engine in it, they’ll have a winner.
