2008 Ford Focus Interiors

Euro version on top....

Again, price isn't the perfect excuse. The Euro Focus is sold in Mexico...

i think the giant cup holder in the middle console of the US focus says it all...

i think ford should switch their car clinic contractor and fire the focus group and get "normal" people...

the cup holder hole is almost bigger than the tachometer/speedometer instuments...

That's gotta be a new record for the largest use of plastics in a car interior. It's just soo sad that ford actually has better quality cars available, such as the focus and mondeo, but doesn't bring them to the US.

I like both designs...but i know the euro focus has soft touch dash panels and top, i wonder if the US focus does?
Otherwise i can't see why the americans are complaining about the US fcous interior??

but thats what they re used toover there

the good old us focus is a superior prududct in every way
us steel is the key to a safer and better car

It's not about price, it's about perception. Even Ford loyalists look down on Ford' products, and won't pay a premium price for the product. Ford currently loses $3000 on each Focus sold (coinciding with the $3k rebates). If they upped the quality, but public perception was still that the car was crap, what would their loses on it be then?

It's a catch 22.

well, the "good old us focus" was designed by Ford of Europe back in the late 90s, and we simply still havent received the latest version of it, and we probably never will. One amazing detail to point out is that ford's only sedans to ever win spots on Car and Driver's ten best lists, besides the original Ford Taurus, were the Focus and the Contour, both of which were designed by Ford of Europe. The Contour, over in Europe, was called the Mondeo. Put that in your pipe and smoke it.

i answer: nothing is better than this... no wonder the US has a weight and diabetes pandemic... super "size me" made easy...

what happened to the cup holder for the "cup"...

a regular can of coke is .33 liters. the super size cup holder hold a full liter of liquid... or maybe a liter of your favorite soup on your morning commute so you won't lose a gramm of your precious weight...

i like cup holders, like in my new beetle, for regular cans and the occasional coffee... not for super sized portions that make the general public vulnerable to obesity...

and it tells a lot about the car... it means the US focus is meant for the trailer trash demographic... or the ones that are about to commit to their AA rules...

my 2 cents...

i agree... i have to add that the mondeo an focus was mainly developed by ford of cologne, germany, old and new. like opel in ruesselsheim, germany they are capable of developing very good cars if left alone... if the US HQ interferes something like the last ford scorpio comes out of it... one of the ugliest cars ever...

ford scorpio last generation pix:

back: http://www.hytekautogas.co.uk/various%20020.jpg

when they redesigned the scorpio for the last gen. update there was a new corporate strcuture in place for big, small and micro cars. europe handled the small and micro design and ford US the big cars design...
