Chery F11

Last Updated:

Chinese luxury.

Malcolm Bricklin claimed last year that Chery was going to sell a luxury car in the US as part of his Visionary Vehicles (that was before the whole idea was dropped a few months ago).
Maybe Chery will sell in the US anyway, with or without Bricklin. (They just made a deal with Chrysler for a small car)

The Euro license plate on this car shows they are intending to sell this overseas.
I don’t think the design would appeal to anyone in Europe shopping for a luxury car.
But this could have better luck in the US, if priced right.

The car comes with a choice of a V6 or even a 4.2 Liter V8.
And it reminds me (on paper) of the upcoming “big Hyundai”.

If they can price a V8 luxury car for under $30 000, they might have a chance…

  1. If there from china and wanna provide a v-8 rear wheel drive and price it at 30k it will not sell !
There unproven and not reliable in our eyes so they dont have a chance in hell for big sales in that price range ! I remember the xg300 and xg350 at 23k and thought that was totally insane ! and now we have the (929 look alike) Azera and ive seen a few here in car country so cal, and am surprised they sell at all, seeing there are so many better cars at 24k like maxima, 500, charger, ect.
This car has alot of sexy lines on it and love the headlamps but that grille gets a A- for effort and a D- for exacution…

  2. Not bad. Not quite what one would call “Dull” looking.

People said the Japanese were ajoke 30 years ago, then Korea 10… and they are all selling( Hyundai is 6th place in USA, adn Kia 7th, have been for the past 2-3 years, or longer, in annual sales in USA. If you had told me that they-Hyundia/Kia- would be this successful 7 years ago, I would not have believed it.)

With Chery building small cars for Chrysler( read on detnews…. Chrysler will help Chery with making better vehicles, and Chery will build small cars for Chrysler, maybe even larger cars, the article said, in the future).

    Who knows what will happen?
If Chrysler can sell the FED V6 Sebring, LOL…..anything can happen, I guess!

  3. how can you post the new ford and this crap on the same page
anyone who is thinking of byuing this rered crap is a traitor to our great country

  4. The alloy wheels appear to be specifically designed to look like cheap hubcaps–they cover everything up. Why do carmakers do this?

I have an account and I still see these damn Captchas at the bottom of the page before posting a comment. There are better, less irritating ways of preventing comment spam.

Right on DBJ. Try them for treason and pass the popcorn! Now pass that Kool Aid you’ve been swiggin’ and let me have sum. LoL.

  6. Love that term “Kool-aid drinker”. Sums up the new division between smart vs moron America nicely. Its an OK looking thing as a car but it lacks in the “reason to buy” department. Reminds me of cars like the Nissan Cedric/Gloria and the Toyota Crown, or even the old Mitsubishi Debonair. It will be good for developing their home market and that is one area companies like Geely and Chery should focus.

  7. wow, i actually like this, and i bet, if we didn’t know that this was a “chinese car”, it would be getting a warm(er) welcome…

  9. Except for the grille, this car looks really sharp. However, if Chinese cars are built as poorly as just about everything else that comes from that part of the world, then they’re going to have problems. The crash tests already suggest this. Like the Japanese and the Koreans, the Chinese will have to prove themselves. It’ll happen, but probably not as successfully as the Japanese.

  10. “The alloy wheels appear to be specifically designed to look like cheap hubcaps”

They are RR knockoffs. Every inch of this car is a copy of something else.

  11. Looks very nice & original to me, nothing like many of those obvious knockoffs we have seen so far. I agree as many have said, I doubt anyone would spend big bucks on an unknown brand in the US. The Chinese have to start at the entry level (sub $10k) first before moving upscale…

  12. dont waste the trip across the water. this looks too weakto try and compete.why when any manufacteror try to ship cars over seas to sell it get hits with all kinds of tarifs and taxes but not when cars are shipped to the us.are our gov just that dumb
