2007 Cadillac SRX

Last Updated:

It finally gets a nice interior.
It took them a while, but they did it.
We’ll have to see if the quality matches the Lexus RX or Infiniti FX, but it does look very nice.

It also previews the next CTS interior.

  1. I like the new grille shape, but was wishing for more imposing chrome bling up front. The wheels are nice.

  2. too bad the air vents are all fugly ! and the way the center console – gauge section seems odd ! but hey anything is better than the current dash ! anything ! even my 91 toyota has a better dash design….

  3. actually the next cts interior will be nothing like this at all other than being higher quality thant the current model, this is just a temporary fix until an all new srx hits the market, but finally an interior that goes along with the exterior, and price, and nice sport model

  4. MORE BLING FOR THE BUCK!!! This goes to show that GM can still make a nice well designed vehicle if they take their time, think things through and make the extra effort to create something above the ordinary!!! KUDOS to GM!!! KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK!!!

  5. Not too shabby at all.

Wonder if the next gen will fix the enormous door sills people have to climb over?

  6. ok the quality of the lexus rx, i can understand but the fx has been trashed since it has came out for its low quality interior, maybe x5, m class, or toureg should have took the place in the high quality part the fx is the other low rent interior in the segment…..

  7. Vince, this is probably not the place to post this info but Acura just announced that the release date for the new RDX will be August 10th and the base price will be $32,995!!! Too bad they could not have kept the base model below $30,000!!! Seems a little pricey for such a small vehicle!!! I bet the new CR-V will increase in price by 2 or 3 grand also!!!

  8. “They finally get rid of the ugly ”CPU” in the middle of the dash.”

LOL. I can totally see that!

And pastorshannon, are you a pastor? Just wondering.

  9. Yum, I like the interior quite a bit. This is much better than the new Escalade interior, which looks nice at a glance, but completely falls apart on detailed inspection.

With that said, though much improved, the detailing is still inferior to its Japanese competitors. There was a very high resolution interior pix floating around somewhere…

    Anyway, good stuff.

  10. I’ve always liked the SRX. A friend has one, and it looks nice, drives alright, functions well as a station wagon, and has a luxurious interior.

But it’s been a lemon. After 12 trips to the dealership with serious problems including transmission, engine, and suspension, she drove it to the Lexus dealer and traded up.

  11. i drive an srx this interior is nice, and a raised toyota camry station wagon is not trading up from anything except a highlander…lol trading up…

I suppose I should have defined “trading up.” For my friend, and myself, trading up means enjoying greater reliability, solid resale value, better gas mileage, and lower insurance costs. And as an added bonus, the Lexus name is more desirable and respected in our circles.

  13. vince has anything changed with the exterior? looks to me as though it still has the same ugly butt

ps. i just sharted (farted where a little poop comes out, gross)

  14. I don’t think they change the exterior much. Maybe the grille (on the chromed version).

Thanks for sharing about your “shart”.

Then why did this person purchase an SRX in the first place if it’s such an unappealing brand on your cul-de-sac? 12 visits to the shop? Riiight. Cadillac ranks very well in terms of both initial and long-term quality. Comments such as yours are laden with favoritism in an attempt to sound impartial. And so transparent.

The painful reality for you is, Cadillac builds better vehicles that enthusiasts want to buy. Lexus does better selling vanilla. And as Cadillac surpasses Lexus in exterior and interior design, it’s not going to be a tough choice for most people.

My friend bought her SRX because she wanted to buy a station wagon for her needs. She had no concern for your agenda.

Twelve visits to the shop? Yes, you are correct. You read very well for your age.

  17. “The painful reality for you is, Cadillac builds better vehicles that enthusiasts want to buy.”

Painful reality? Talk to GM about bending over for Renault.

    Ouch. Bring lube.
