Even more pictures of the new TT…

Last Updated:

Even though it is not nearly as original and striking as the original, it will still be one of the best looking cars around.
And a pleasure to drive.

I am actually curious. Are you disappointed in the new TT ?
Do you like it, love it?
Would you actually buy one?
The current model starts at around $33 500, which isn’t that bad for such a special looking car…

  1. I love it! I always liked the original but I love this new design inside and out. Let’s hope it drives as good as it looks.

  2. its good to see that audi changed the interior quite a bit. although the current one is beautiful, it has limited headroom (you can see scallops in the ceiling of the new one)and it has those awful metal grab handles on the centre console (in the new one, it appears as though it is better). a good competetor for the alfa romeo brera.

  3. My dad drives a 2003 Audi TT Roadster, 225 hp, 6-speed. It really puts a smile on your face whenever you drive it around, not to mention the attention of others you pass. He bought it knowing it wasn’t the sportiest convertible in its class, but it is usable every day, great fun to drive and is a tank in the snow (quattro all-wheel-drive). I think this new one is a fantastic design evolution, and I love it.

  4. It’s a nice evolution from the previous design. It looks more muscular and less cute which is good.

The only thing that bugs me about that car is the fact that it’s derived from the Golf… Why pay so much more for it? I’m sure it’s worth it but I’d get the impression that I got ripped off if I bought one.

    Great car though.

  5. I’m not disappointed in the new TT. I think some people (e.g. the motoring media) get upset when a new model isn’t a radical departure from its predecessor. It doesn’t always have to be (e.g. the MX-5) as long as its purpose remains intact. Some manufacturers will make bold moves (e.g. the Renault Mégane, Nissan Primera) and others won’t (most of the Germans). Variety is a nice thing to have.
But I would not buy it. I always thought the TT looked dumpy. The new one still does. It’s a matter of taste, ultimately.

  6. The previous TT was also derived from the golf platform… As was the Jetta amd the A4.

  7. it looks good, but the interior isn’t quite a huge leap forward from the original. I would have liked to see them continue with the “exposed” ducts for the aircon on the dahs top and the big aluminum grab handles.

I just want a FSI Turbo with quattro, but it looks like it isn’t available.

  8. Phil…Pontiac-like interior? What are you smoking? Let me get some of it.
This new TT is very nice. It looks different enough to make the first gen retain its specialness, unlike the E36 M3 compared with the E46. I especially love the steering wheel and the dash…looks very purposeful.
It also looks more agressive…not such a benign car anymore.
