That’s right. The greedy bastards at Daimler Chrysler have killed the cool Smart Roadster hatchback and convertible.
The last ones will be produced at the end of 2005. It just came out in the Spring of 2003!
It all came down to sale numbers (as usual). Smart sold 152000 cars last year, and only 14700 of them were Roadsters…
They seem to think that the regular Fortwo and the new Forfour are enough to keep the company going.
They might be right as far as profits go. But Smart should be more than just about making money.
At least, just a little bit more…
