2006 Mazda one

Next year, the Scion will have some competition, from Mazda.
This is the Japanese version of the car they will call the Mazda one in the US.
That’s a great idea. Another “cube like” small 4 door with tons of room inside.
But, from these pictures at least, the Mazda seems much more upscale and pleasant inside than the Scion.
The Mazda advantage will be short though… Nissan is supposed to release a redesigned version of their Cube in the US, and Toyota will have an all new Scion soon enough.
The main reason for these “cool cube designs” is the interior room.
This was shown at the 2004 Detroit Auto show. it’s profile actually looks similar to the Cayenne.
