2021 Genesis G70 sedan

Last Updated:

As you can see, the mid-cycle refresh for the G70 sedan is quite extensive. This isn’t only a slightly new grille and bumpers.
the whole front end as a totally different feel to it now. The whole thing is much more rounded and far less angular.
They didn’t just craft a G80 grille (blue car) onto it.

The rear end seems less different. Of course, it shows the current generation Genesis rear light design.
And the bumper has been reworked as well. But it isn’t the drastic change we see upfront.

The big news for 2021 will be the new wagon body style added to the regular sedan.

As far as powertrains, I have just heard there might not be such an upgrade. the 2.0 Liter Turbo might not be replaced by the all-new 2.5 Liter. Same thing with the V6.

Maybe that can’t build enough of them for all these new models???

  1. Is the entire front face made of a single piece of sheet metal? The front looks super solid and tight.

  2. It looks decidedly worse. I would dare say not a single person would say this looks better than the current design.

  3. The current G70 is a fine but unremarkable design imo, but this looks like a bad chinese design. On acid. What were they thinking?! Just as they did with the G90, they've ruined a perfectly decent looking car.

No. The bumper extends all the way to the hood. Basically, the entire front fascia of the car is the front bumper. Automakers do this because it makes repair cheaper and lowers the costs of facelifts, since they don't have to change the actual sheet metal.

  5. It even has a "surprised" face LOL. This is going to be considered one of the most unsuccessful facelifts in history.

  6. Not sure the more rounded front works in the case of the G70. The new rear is better in comparison to the front, but if it were my money, I would scramble to find a 2020 model, before they are gone.
