2020 Cadillac CT4 V Video

Last Updated:

Well, here it is. Alive (kind of)

You can see for yourself the updated ATS now called CT4.
And this is the new V version with its 2.7 Liter 4 cylinder (yes, from the Silverado).

What do you think?

  1. ATS looks much better. CT4 is even smaller inside than ATS. I want to see real name and elegant sedan/hatchback exactly like Escala. Somebody in GM get crazy.

  2. Weird that they made such a big deal about discontinuing the ATS sedan for 2018 (and keeping only the coupe around), and then bring back pretty much the exact same vehicle two years later.. and now with less power to boot. Way to go GM.

  3. Why is everyone hung up on the name? This is a CLA AMG competitor. S3 competitor. BMW 2 series competitor. Cadillac is doing exactly what it has been for the past 5 years. Making cars slightly bigger then it’s rivals and pricing them similar to its rivals. The CT5 is a A4, 3 series competitor just a bit bigger, same price point. The CT6 is a 5 series, E350, A6 competitor. Bigger, at the same price point. And just because it’s a V doesn’t mean there won’t be a V “+” coming down the pipeline with the new black wing V8. Am I the only one that thinks this is a reasonable strategy?

  4. I think the problem with Cadillac is that it doesn't offer anything different or groundbreaking in engineering, design, features, or image other than it being from an American brand. We keep talking about the Ciel, Escala, and other concepts because they show Cadillac could design something different, but as is usual for GM since the malaise era, they're cutting corners by replicating their interior designs, trying to pitch this CT4 as "all-new" when it's clearly just a restyled ATS, and putting cheap plastic trim on the C-pillar of the CT5. The naming is just part of the issue – as Lincoln has figured out, American buyers identify with names rather than alphanumeric model names. Cadillac needs to stop pretending it's German.

As much as I am annoyed by Tesla and its dudebro CEO, I have to admit they might be a better example of an American luxury brand which can actually convince people to buy their cars. Maybe they have a better grasp of today's luxury buyer, I don't know, but Cadillac seems clueless.

  5. If at least they would propose something special… A lifted wagon? A faux-Ute version? Juste something to distinguish themself and to help people to accept spending money on old looking luxury cars… As AMC did on the Concord. When you're pathetic, you can at least be imaginative!
