2019 VW Jetta test drive coming up

Last Updated:

I will be driving a brand new 2019 VW Jetta SE this week.

The SE is one up from the base S model. R-Line, SEL and SEL Premium models are available above my SE version.
So even though it is not exactly the absolute base model it is still pretty basic.
Still, it does come with a push-button start, a very a large sunroof and LED lights.

Power comes from a 1.4-liter turbo with an 8 speed automatic.
(no more manual…)

As usual, I will drive it around all week and will try to answer any questions you might have.

So far… Pretty cheap.

  1. Not that expensive but not cheaper than the competition. But that interior does look and feel super cheap…

  2. Imho, the Forte has this beat in style. VW took a major step backward and I think the exterior already looks dated. The interior design is great however. I can't wait to see what Kia has in store for the SX.

    Never forget.

  3. I think this thing looks horrible. I saw one on the road yesterday for the first time and it looks exactly like it does in pictures, very bad. It looks cheap and not better than the dated Sentra, Corolla, Focus, etc. I know you don't like chrome in cars Vince, but I think that chrome around the windows would help this car a LOT.

  4. I don't lie chrome grille and unnecessary chrome bits. But I do agree about chrome around the windows.
I almost always like it. I just saw a new Mustang Bullitt in real life (Actually the guys who were delivering the Jetta were driving that)

The car looks fantastic in person. And that chrome around the window looked really perfect!
