2018 Hyundai Sonata (US version)

Last Updated:

 Looking really good.
A few changes here and there, and it really does look better and more upscale.
Actually now, it looks like a larger Elantra, more than before….

The only downside seems to be the lack of that glass roof option.
None of the official shots how it for 2018. So I guess it’s gone.
Maybe it is a (cheap) way to differentiate the Sonata a bit more from the )still nicer looking0 Kia Optima?
Why???

Same story inside. Where only trims are new, and it works.
making the whole thing more upscale.
The current one (bottom pic) almost looks cheap by comparison.

I’d say, except for the sunroof, good job Hyundai!

  1. Maybe it is a (cheap) way to differentiate the Sonata a bit more from the )still nicer looking0 Kia Optima?

    ??

  2. The Panoramic roof may be gone because it had rattles and squeaks that could not be fixed. It had at least one recall and after I had my dealer try and fail to fix it after several visits I finally dumped the car.

  3. NEW! IMPROVED! Now even MORE "Ford Focus" in the front! But the Lambo tail lights are very nice. The new dash–not so much. The previous one looks much more upscale in these photos–but maybe in person the update looks less cheap than it does here.

  4. swings and misses. Love the "15in wheels!

Hopefully this is a stop gap facelift for max 2 years until the next generation.
