2018 Genesis G70

This one is a big deal for Hyundai's new Genesis brand.
As it is getting ready to take on the 3 series, C-Class and A4. As well as the all new Alfa Romeo.

But, as you can see, the production model will be a much different design than the rather interesting concept we saw a while ago.
This is the concept.
Next to it, the production prototype just looks like a Hyundai version of the Lexus IS. Which is really too bad.
The concept wasn't futuristic or even that original. But it did look a bit different.
The third side window looked really nice, I thought.

They look like 2 completely different cars.
This has been a problem for many years at Hyundai.
Showing us great concepts that really amount to nothing.

I mean why even bother?

From a distance the side profile would look too similar to the Stinger, mostly in the rear quarter window area. Too bad it is pulling Lexus IS/2018 Camry/Giulia

Let;s wait to see the final product.

But, unlike the Phaeton, this isn't a 12 cylinder, S-class rival. Plus, it's probably more reliable...

I did, a bought a 2015 Genesis Sedan and I love it. I don't care about brands as long as it is a quality car and I got a lot of bang for my buck. Interesting enough that's what people were saying in 1989 when Lexus was introduced and today not a single american luxury brand can hold a candle to them.

Now that Genesis is a "separate" brand, there will be more attention to quality and performance. In any event, most cars these days are very capable and differentiation comes down to tech stuff additions that "enthusiasts" should not need. My prediction is that it will exceed the expectations of those that are mentally still stuck in the Hyundai era of the 90s.

I'll repeat what I said before, people laughed A LOT at Lexus in 1989.... Don't be fools and marry a brand that actually don't give you anything in return. I've owned cars from Nissan, Toyota, Volkswagen, Jeep, Honda, Hyundai and my favorite one so far... the Genesis.
