2017 Hyundai Grandeur/Azera

It looks like we are not getting the new generation Azera in the US.
I guess Hyundai thinks one car (The redesigned Kia Costanza) is enough to represent the large sedan market.
Plus, they now have Genesis anyway, with its G80.
So why not.

This is a very nice looking car. It has a bit more curves than recent Hyundai designs. Which might be a trend. Showing us where they are going with the next Sonata?

The interior seems inspired by Toyota. I see a bit of the new Prius and HR-C in there.
Plus the version pictured above seems pretty serious. With its black and metal trim interior.

The exterior is great. The interiors of Hyundai still sucks

The lack of wood is a deal killer for me (ESPECIALLY in the over $30k price range.)

It looks very similar to the RWD Genesis G70. Maybe it could be a entry level Genesis

Vince. You need to proofread. There is no Toyota HR-C, it's the CH-R. Also, the "Kia Constanza" thing was never funny. Just call it by it's actual name: CADENZA.

The front of that thing looks like a Chevy Malibu to me.

Funny, I thought we got the new Azera already! Makes sense to drop it in the US if they are planning to allow Genesis to grow without direct competition on the shared showroom floor. However, I doubt very seriously that the new Azera design will have any impact on a future Sonata considering Azera always arrives one year after Sonata (a new Sonata is at least 4 years off) and is basically just a stretched, V6-powered version of the same car. Maybe they will sneakily transfer the Sonata badge to the Azera and rename the existing Sonata as Sonata Sport?

The Sonata arrived in 2014 as a 2015. The Grandeur/Azera is now arriving in 2016 as a 2017. The last generations debuted in 2009 as a 2010 and 2011 as a 2012 respectively.

How is that one year after the Sonata?

December 1, 2016 at 7:39 PM December 3, 2016 at 9:23 AM The 2015 Azera is based on the previous (2013-2014) Sonata. The 2015 Sonata is different. The 2015 Sonata shares a lot with the 2017 Genesis 80 & 90.

Anonymous @ 10:17, you're joking right?? 1. The Sonata is front wheel drive and the G80 and G90 are rear wheel drive. They ride on completely different platforms so they're hardly closely related. 2. The 2015 Azera, yes, shares its platform with the precious Sonata, but is the same as the 2012-2014 and 2016 Azeras so why are you singling out the 2015?
