All new 2017 Honda CR-V

Last Updated:

This is a huge deal for Honda.. As “compact” SUVs are basically taking over the  mid size sedan segment in the US.
So this has the potential to end up selling more than the Civic or even the Accord.

And it looks like they did not mess up.
As it looks way more upscale than before. The interior especially is a huge step up from the current model.
It is still based on the Civic. ( so of course, tons of profits here, since it costs thousands more…)

I think this will be quite a nightmare for the competition.
There should be a new RAV-4 next year. But the new Escape is not around the corner.

Engines now include the Civic’s new 1.5 Liter Turbo.
As well as the older 2.4 Liter.

So far, I’d say this is a great job. That will wow the current owners, and attract others.
This will be everywhere within a few months.

  1. Vince, come on, you did not get the memo? The CRV has been a huge deal for Honda for a long time. This is simply going to choke everyone else.

  2. We are planning to buy the 2017 Honda Civic until we saw this. Well, this changes everything. Yes, it would cost thousands more but it is completely a different class. Thank you Honda!

  3. It's interesting to see that a lot of car companies are adopting some variation of a hexagonal grille.

  4. I think also Honda did a great job. This model is crucial and they made a stylish and aggressive design. Interiors are great. I rented for two weeks the past model in Iceland and I was well impressed for the good handling and the roomy interior

  5. Hideous. Absolutely hideous. Then again, so is everything coming from Honda these days. As a former owner of three Accords, one Civic, two CR-Vs, this thing turns my stomach. Either something has happened to me or Honda has lost it in the design department.

  6. No longer the absolute ugliest cuv on the block. A huge breakthrough for this asthetically-challenged econo car. If priced under Trax, Equinox, Compass and Escape I would even consider one! (Unless I could get the even better looking equivalent from Hyundai, Kia, or Mazda for the same price.)

  7. First thing I thought when I saw a photo of the new CR-V was "Nissan Rogue". Now after seeing more photos, I'm still thinking "Nissan Rogue". Is there a rule that says all these CUVs have to look alike?

  8. Nissan Rogue is one of the better looking small suvs on the market, it just needs a turbo slapped ontop of that 2.5 L engine to give it some teeth. I like the look of this new CRV,looks very sharp.Personally i prefer the simple round anolog guages in the dash then digital crap.

  9. Looks like one of those genetically engineered babies with three parents…..this is what happens when a toyota, hyundai and honda breed in the same test tube…..
