All new 2017/18 Jeep Compass

Last Updated:

Nobody is actually sure of the name.
Most guess they will keep “Compass”.
It will replace both the old Compass and Patriot.
So it will fit right in between the Renegade and Cherokee.

I think this will actually spell bad news for the Cherokee.
As it already looks great. And better than its “slightly” larger brother.

This will be a very popular size in Europe as well.

I think this will be a huge hit for Jeep everywhere. It looks really nice. They even managed to include original/stylish touches (like that chrome line running from the rear view mirror to around the back window).
And it does look like a Jeep.

So far, well done.
I can’t wait to see the real thing at the Los Angeles auto show in a couple of months.

  1. Looks like it's going to be Compass. Check out the writing on the driver's door, that definitely says Compass. License plate "CMP"…CoMPass also seems to be a clue.

  2. i think this new Jeep Compass will be a very popular seller …but Jeep/Chrysler has to do a few verrrry important thing: offer a very good, well engineered ,strong-smooth 4 cylinder engine (180-190 HP) as the base engine. Stop being dicks and giving the public unreliable automatic transmissions with ''software problems''…enough already…make a good solid 5 Speed Auto and make sure it is well engineered and READY for public use. Stop overcharging . I've seen (pre taxes ) $48,000 jeep 4dr limited wranglers, jeep grand cherokees from $30,000 to over $55,000, new cherokees past $45,000 (Vancouver , CaNADA by the way 🙂 ) and so on…..way over inflated prices for a vehicle brand (jeep/chrysler) that gets rated usually at the bottom of yearly reliability reports. At least build the damn vehicles to be as reliable as a 10 year old Corolla….

  3. The front 3/4 looks pretty nice, but from the c-pillar on back the new Compass is derivative of pretty much everything in its class. And not in a good way. Jeep shows us killer Moab concepts, then gives us a Nissan Rogue clone. And as Tony pointed out, it needs to be priced realistically. Cherokee Trailhawks top out at over $40,000 US, and Renegades can hit the mid $30,000.

  4. Looks good. It will be a strong winner. Now if they can only get the remarkable resale value of the Wrangler; a $45k wrangler sells for almost as much after 3 years as it was when new! If Jeep Rubicon can have better resale than anything Lexus, I don't see why the next generation Compass can't!

  5. I would never buy one because of Chrysler/FIAT terrible quality, but I have to admit this looks pretty good.
